Low Life (Massive Ego EP)
''Low Life'' is the first EP from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It was a collaboration with the Irish electronic group Empire State Human. It was released on Marc Massive's own independent label, ''Public Disordar Records'', on 20 October 2014. Two singles preceded the album, and two singles donated profits from their release to animal charities. Two music videos were released to promote the EP; ''Sound of the Download'' and ''Low Life'' Background In 2014, Massive Ego began collaborating with Irish electronic band, Empire State Human, and on 4 February, ''Sound of the Download'' was released as a digital single. A song about illegal downloading. This would be the first release from a collaboration EP by the two bands. Later that year, ''Animal Rights Human Wrongs'' was released as a digital single with proceeds going to the charities, ''Saving Strays'' in Sarajevo and ''The Mayhew Animal Home'' in the UK. Massive Ego
Massive Ego was a British Darkwave musical group formed in 1996 by singer and ex-model, Marc Massive (also the owner of the Public Disordar label) and Andy J Thirwall. The band has changed its sound and image since its formation. The original releases being mostly covers in a Eurodance, Hi-NRG style. Massive and Thirwall later parted ways, and Massive searched for a new musical direction for the band. Collaborations with ''Empire State Human'' and ''Lia Organa & Electric Prince'' were the start of a darker sound for the band. The band joined alternative German label '' Out of Line Music'' in 2015 with the line-up; Marc Massive, Oliver Frost, Lloyd Price and Scot Collins. Their debut album for Out of Line was released on 17 February 2017. The current themes of the songs centre around the darker side of life, depression and anxiety, death, suicide, love, sex and vampirism. I Idolize You (Massive Ego Song)
"I Idolize You" is the fifth single from British Darkwave band Massive Ego. It was written by Massive and Thirwall. It was the first release for the band on Marc Massive's own independent label, Public Disordar Records, on 15 August 2011. The single marked the departure from the Hi-NRG, Eurodance sound of the band's previous releases. Background The video for "I Idolize You" was filmed by Bambi Fantastic and directed by Massive and Frost. It features the SuicideGirls model Honey Manko, who later modelled for the cover of the ''Beautiful Suicide'' album. "Devil in Disguise" was written for the band by Australian production team, T1 Music and originally recorded for their second album, but was later released on the single as a B-side. Scarlet Fantastic were a British pop band active in the 1980s, consisting of Maggie K. De Monde and Rick P. Jones. The duo were former members of pop trio Swans Way, who had a hit with "Soul Train" in 1984. Scarlet Fantastic reached the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart only once, with October 1987 single "No Memory", a song which would become popular a few years later on the rave and Ibiza dance music scenes. ''Beautiful Suicide'' is the second studio album from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It was released as a double-disc album on the label Out of Line Music. It is the debut album for both the label, and the new lineup of the band. Background The album was recorded throughout 2016, with many tracks also performed live throughout the year, including "Let Go", written by Boy George, a friend of Marc Massive.
