Beautiful Suicide
''Beautiful Suicide'' is the second studio album from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It was released as a double-disc album on the label Out of Line Music. It is the debut album for both the label, and the new lineup of the band. Background The album was recorded throughout 2016, with many tracks also performed live throughout the year, including "Let Go", written by Boy George, a friend of Marc Massive. This would later be announced as the lead single for the album, with a video being recorded in January 2017. Other tracks such as "Drag Me In, Drag Me Under" and "Out of Line" were released on the Out of Line compilation series ''Electrostorm Vol. 6'' and on the Electronic Saviours compilation series ''Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer Vol. 4'', respectively. Massive Ego
Massive Ego was a British Darkwave musical group formed in 1996 by singer and ex-model, Marc Massive (also the owner of the Public Disordar label) and Andy J Thirwall. The band has changed its sound and image since its formation. The original releases being mostly covers in a Eurodance, Hi-NRG style. Massive and Thirwall later parted ways, and Massive searched for a new musical direction for the band. Collaborations with ''Empire State Human'' and ''Lia Organa & Electric Prince'' were the start of a darker sound for the band. The band joined alternative German label '' Out of Line Music'' in 2015 with the line-up; Marc Massive, Oliver Frost, Lloyd Price and Scot Collins. Their debut album for Out of Line was released on 17 February 2017. The current themes of the songs centre around the darker side of life, depression and anxiety, death, suicide, love, sex and vampirism. Nick Rhodes
Nick Rhodes (born Nicholas James Bates, 8 June 1962) is an English keyboardist and producer, best known as a founding member, keyboardist, and only continuous member of the band Duran Duran. He is also informally monikered as "The Controller", after being introduced as such on stage by bandmate Simon Le Bon during the Astronaut album world tours of 2004–2005. David Levine (December 20, 1926 – December 29, 2009) was an American artist and illustrator best known for his caricatures in ''The New York Review of Books''. Ash Code is an Italian dark wave band formed in 2014 in Napoli by the singer Alessandro Belluccio, the keyboardist Claudia Nottebella and the bass player Adriano Belluccio. Ash Code music covers a wide range of genres including dark wave, post-punk, synth-pop and EBM. History Early days In January 2014, "Dry your Eyes" and "Unnecessary Songs" were released online. Ashbury Heights
Ashbury Heights is a Swedish electronic music duo from Sundsvall, Medelpad, formed in 2005. The duo consisted originally of Anders Hagström (vocals, songwriter, music, and programming) and Yasmine Uhlin (vocals). Uhlin left the band after the release of their EP, ''Morning Star in a Black Car'', and was replaced by Kari Berg (vocals) as the lead female vocalist. Berg was a member of Ashbury Heights until 2010 and was featured on one album, ''Take Cair Paramour''. In 2010, following a long-running dispute between Hagström and the Out of Line label, the band disbanded. I Idolize You (Massive Ego Song)
"I Idolize You" is the fifth single from British Darkwave band Massive Ego. It was written by Massive and Thirwall. It was the first release for the band on Marc Massive's own independent label, Public Disordar Records, on 15 August 2011. The single marked the departure from the Hi-NRG, Eurodance sound of the band's previous releases. Background The video for "I Idolize You" was filmed by Bambi Fantastic and directed by Massive and Frost. It features the SuicideGirls model Honey Manko, who later modelled for the cover of the ''Beautiful Suicide'' album. "Devil in Disguise" was written for the band by Australian production team, T1 Music and originally recorded for their second album, but was later released on the single as a B-side. David Levine (photographer)
David Levine (born 1960) is a British music, portrait and fashion photographer. He is best known for his work with Culture Club, ABC, Kylie Minogue and The Cure. David Levine started his career in 1977 while working as a photographer's assistant. He went on to photograph artists live in concert including Iggy Pop live at the Music Machine London and worked as a stills photographer on music videos with the director Tim Pope. As well as working with Culture Club, Levine also worked with a number of other 1980s acts including ABC, The Cure, Kylie Minogue, Jermaine Jackson, 5 Star, and Siouxsie Sioux. Scarlet Fantastic
Scarlet Fantastic were a British pop band active in the 1980s, consisting of Maggie K. De Monde and Rick P. Jones. The duo were former members of pop trio Swans Way, who had a hit with "Soul Train" in 1984. Scarlet Fantastic reached the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart only once, with October 1987 single "No Memory", a song which would become popular a few years later on the rave and Ibiza dance music scenes.
