LoveLaws
''LoveLaws'' is the debut studio album by the American musician Theresa Wayman. It was released under the pseudonym TT on May 18, 2018 on LoveLeaks, Wayman's own imprint. Produced over an eight-year period, ''LoveLaws'' style deviates from the music she created as a member of the indie rock band Warpaint and features a more electronic sound influenced by downtempo and trip hop. The album's lyrics explore several themes relating to the concept of love, including motherhood, self-empowerment and both romantic and platonic love. Wayman self-produced ''LoveLaws'' with her brother Ivan, with additional production contributions from Dan Carey and Money Mark. It was recorded in several locations, including Wayman's home studio and Warpaint's personal studio in the United States and Carey's studio in London, England. Theresa Becker Wayman (born June 23, 1980), known professionally as TT, is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and occasional actress, best known as guitarist and vocalist of the indie rock band Warpaint (band), Warpaint. Early life Wayman was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Eugene, Oregon. She became interested in music at age 9, when she started "jamming along with [her] dad" on guitar. At age 10, her mother encouraged her to learn piano. Wayman has said that she "dabbled in guitar as a teen; then got really serious about guitar and drums when [she] was about 21". During her adolescence, Wayman became close friends with Emily Kokal, with whom she would later form Warpaint. Daniel De Mussenden Carey (born 24 December 1969) is an English record producer, songwriter, mixer and remixer. He owns his own studio in South London and runs the record label Speedy Wunderground. In 2014, Carey received two Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on two nominated albums: ''Everybody Down'' by Kae Tempest and ''First Mind'' by Nick Mulvey. In 2019, Carey earned two further Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on the albums ''Schlagenheim'' by Black Midi and ''Dogrel'' by Fontaines D.C. Mark Ramos Nishita (born February 10, 1960), known professionally as Money Mark, is an American producer and musician, best known for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys from 1992 until 2011. Early life Born in Detroit to a Japanese-Hawaiian father and a Chicana mother, Nishita moved with his family to Los Angeles, California, when he was six years old. Career His first album, '' Mark's Keyboard Repair'' (1995), was made up of keyboard driven pop-funk songs recorded at demo quality.
