Lourdinha Bittencourt
Lourdinha Bittencourt (née Maria de Lourdes Bittencourt; October 30, 1923 – August 19, 1979) was a Brazilian actress and singer who took part in the musical ensemble Trio de Ouro from 1952 to 1957, replacing the lead singer Dalva de Oliveira. She also appeared in telenovelas such as ''Rosa Rebelde'' (1969), ''Véu de Noiva'' (1969), ''Irmãos Coragem,'' (1970), ''Selva de Pedra'' (1972), '' Fogo sobre Terra'' (1974), and in films such as ''Poeira de Estrelas'' (1948), ''É Proibido Sonhar'' (1944) and ''Obrigado, Doutor'' (1948). She died in 1979 of a stroke. Life and career As a movie star Abandoned in the orphanage Asilo Melo Matos at birth, Lourdinha Bittencourt was adopted by piano teacher Maria Bittencourt. From childhood, she showed interest in music and dance. Irving Berlin (born Israel Beilin; yi, ישראל ביילין; May 11, 1888 – September 22, 1989) was a Russian-American composer, songwriter and lyricist. His music forms a large part of the Great American Songbook. Born in Imperial Russia, Berlin arrived in the United States at the age of five. Classically trained in St. Petersburg, Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution, he moved to Berlin and then New York City after the Russian Revolution. Paul Francis Webster (December 20, 1907 – March 18, 1984) was an American lyricist who won three Academy Awards for Best Original Song, and was nominated sixteen times for the award. Life and career Webster was born in New York City, United States, the son of Myron Lawrence Webster and Blanche Pauline Stonehill Webster. His family was Jewish. His father was born in Augustów, Poland. He attended the Horace Mann School (Riverdale, Bronx, New York), graduating in 1926, and then went to Cornell University from 1927 to 1928 and New York University from 1928 to 1930, leaving without receiving a degree. Hubert Giraud (composer)
Hubert Yves Adrian Giraud (3 March 1920 – 16 January 2016) was a French composer and lyricist. Career Giraud began his career playing the harmonica with Django Reinhardt's jazz group, the Quintette du Hot Club de France. In 1941, he was recruited by Ray Ventura to play the guitar during Ventura's big-band tour of South America. Six years later, he joined Jacques Hélian's orchestra in scoring a series of post-war romantic comedy films, including Georges Combert's 1951 feature, ''Musique en tête''. His song "Dors, mon amour", performed by André Claveau, won the Eurovision Song Contest 1958. Giraud (with lyricist Pierre Cour) wrote the song "Gitans" ( "Les Gitans"). It was further translated into English by B. Guilgud (a.k.a. Guilgudo) and A. Gill and recorded by Corry Brokken.
