Lou Stathis
Louis J. Stathis (September 29, 1952 – May 4, 1997) was an American author, critic and editor, mainly in the areas of fantasy and science fiction. During the last four years of his life he was an editor for DC Comics' Vertigo line, working on such titles as ''Preacher'', '' Doom Patrol'', '' Industrial Gothic'', Peter Kuper's ''The System'', and ''Dhampire''. Work Stathis was a columnist and editor for '' Heavy Metal'' and a columnist for Ted White's '' Fantastic'' magazine; during the late 1970s and early 1980s, he also wrote a monthly column on contemporary popular music for '' Gallery'' magazine. He worked as an editor for Ace Books, '' High Times'' and ''Reflex'' magazine. Vortex Comics
Vortex Comics is a Canadian independent comic book publisher that began operation in 1982. Under the supervision of president, publisher, and editor Bill Marks, Vortex was known for such titles as Dean Motter's '' Mister X'', Howard Chaykin's '' Black Kiss'', and Chester Brown's '' Yummy Fur'', the last of which was a pioneer of alternative comics. Samuel is a figure who, in the narratives of the Hebrew Bible, plays a key role in the transition from the biblical judges to the Kingdom of Israel (united monarchy), United Kingdom of Israel under Saul, and again in the monarchy's transition from Saul to David. Voivod is a Canadian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Jonquière (now part of Saguenay, Quebec, Saguenay) Quebec. Le Sony'r Ra (born Herman Poole Blount, May 22, 1914 – May 30, 1993), better known as Sun Ra, was an American jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, and poet known for his experimental music, "cosmic" philosophy, prolific output, and theatrical performances. For much of his career, Ra led The Arkestra, an ensemble with an ever-changing name and flexible line-up. Born and raised in Alabama, Blount became involved in the Music of Chicago, Chicago jazz scene during the late 1940s. The Residents are an American art collective and art rock band best known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works. Don Van Vliet (; born 'Don Glen Vliet'; January 15, 1941 – December 17, 2010) was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist known by the stage name Captain Beefheart.
