Los Pericos is an Argentine band formed in 1987. The band has enjoyed international success, especially throughout South America. In 2006, the band received some notable exposure for North American audiences when featured on an episode of Anthony Bourdain's '' No Reservations''. The band was also featured in the 2000 documentary, ''Botín de guerra'' (''Spoils of war''). History In 1986 a group of friends who used to get together to play music became Los Pericos, the first reggae rock band in Argentina. Their first record, ''El Ritual De La Banana'', was released in 1988 and was the best selling album of the year, obtaining triple platinum status for its 180 thousand units sold. Tuff Gong is the brand name associated with a number of businesses started by Bob Marley and the Marley family. 'Tuff Gong' comes from Marley's nickname, which was in turn an echo of that given to founder of the Rastafari movement, Leonard "The Gong" Howell. Pato Banton (born Patrick Murray; 28 January 1961) is a reggae singer and toaster from Birmingham, England. He received the nickname Pato Banton from his stepfather: its first name derives from the sound of a Jamaican owl calling "patoo, patoo", while its second comes from the disc jockey slang word "banton", meaning heavyweight lyricist or storyteller. The Police
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977.
