The London Central Bus Company is a bus operator brand under London General Transport Services Limited, trading as Go-Ahead London. It is a subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Group and primarily operates services in South London under contract to Transport for London. As part of the privatisation of London bus services, in September 1994, London Central was sold to the Go-Ahead Group for £23.8 million (). Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC
The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC (sold as the Alexander Dennis Enviro400) is a low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus produced by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis since 2014, replacing the Alexander Dennis Enviro400. The Enviro400 MMC is produced at Alexander Dennis' Falkirk and Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Scarborough factories in the United Kingdom. The Enviro400 MMC is available as a complete integral bus – including an alternative styling, the Enviro400 City – or as a bus bodywork on Scania AB, Scania and Volvo Buses, Volvo chassis. A tri-axle variant, known as the Enviro400 XLB, is also produced. London Buses route 89 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Slade Green railway station, Slade Green and Lewisham station, Lewisham stations, it is operated by London Central, a subsidiary of Go-Ahead London. Fastrack (bus)
Fastrack is the name given to two bus rapid transit schemes in Kent. The original network began on 26 March 2006 in Dartford and Gravesend, Kent, Gravesend, part of the Thames Gateway regeneration area, and on 17 November 2024 a separate network was launched in Dover. History Kent Thameside Construction work on the Fastrack network in Kent Thameside began on 23 September 2004. Thames Gateway
Thames Gateway is a term applied to an area around the Thames Estuary in the context of discourse around regeneration and further urbanisation. The term was first coined by the UK government and applies to an area of land stretching east from inner east and south-east London on both sides of the River Thames and the Thames Estuary. It stretches from Westferry in Tower Hamlets to the Isle of Sheppey/Southend-on-Sea and extends across three ceremonial counties. Rationale The area was designated during the early years of the Blair ministry as a national priority for urban regeneration because it contained large amounts of brownfield land and to take advantage of rail capacity improvements created at Stratford and in parts of Kent, by the High Speed 1 railway (officially known as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link).
