Lohbrügge
is a quarter in the Bergedorf borough of the Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg in northern Germany. In 2020, the population was 40,745. Geography In 2006, according to the statistical office of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the Lohbrügge quarter has a total area of 13 km2. The western border is to the quarter Billwerder. In the East and North is the state Schleswig-Holstein and the Billstedt quarter of the borough Hamburg-Mitte. In the South is the border to the Bergedorf quarter. In Lohbrügge is the landscape conservation area ''Boberger dune'' (, ). Demographics In 2006, 38,343 people were living in Lohbrügge quarter. Arboretum Lohbrügge
The Arboretum Lohbrügge (10 hectares), also known as the Arboretum der Bundesforschungsanstalt für Forst- und Holzwirtschaft or the Arboretum Lohbruegge der Bundesanstalt, is an arboretum with greenhouses maintained by the German Federal Research Center for Forestry and Forest Products (BFH). It is located at Leuschnerstrasse 91, Lohbrügge, Hamburg, Germany, and open by appointment. The arboretum was established in 1965 by the BFH, ''Bundesforschungsanstalt für Forst- und Holzwirtschaft''. According to Hamann and Seehann, as of 1983 it contained 1541 plant taxa in the arboretum and greenhouse; more recent figures increase that figure to 1570 taxa representing 126 families from all continents, including ''Taxodium distichum'' (about 70 years old) and ''Pinus longaeva''. Bergedorf () is the largest of the seven boroughs of Hamburg, Germany, named after Bergedorf quarter within this borough. In 2020 the population of the borough was 130,994. History The city of Bergedorf received town privileges in 1275, then a part of the younger Duchy of Saxony (1180–1296), which was partitioned by its four co-ruling dukes in 1296 into the branch duchies of Saxe-Lauenburg and Saxe-Wittenberg. Bergedorf then became part of the former. This was only to last until 1303, when Lauenburg's three co-ruling dukes, Albert III, Eric I, and John II partitioned their branch duchy into three smaller duchies. Billwerder () is a quarter of Hamburg, Germany, in the borough of Bergedorf. It is located on the northwestern border of the borough adjacent to the borough of Hamburg-Mitte. At the same time Billwerder means a greater area south of the river Bille. Name The name derives from ''Bilnawerthere'', meaning ''island in the Bille''. Hamburg S-Bahn
The Hamburg S-Bahn is a rapid transit railway system in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Together, the S-Bahn, the Hamburg U-Bahn, the AKN Eisenbahn, AKN railway and the regional railway form the backbone of railway public transport in the city and the surrounding area.
