Billstedt () is a quarter in the borough Hamburg-Mitte, in the eastern part of Hamburg, Germany. In 2020, the population was 71,077, it was the second-most populous quarter. History Schifbeck, Öjendorf, Steinbeck and Schlem are the old settlements. Geography In 2006, according to the statistical office of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the Billstedt quarter had a total area of 17 km². To the north is the Jenfeld quarter of the Wandsbek borough. The municipalities Barsbüttel and Oststeinbek in the German state Schleswig-Holstein are to the east. To the west are the quarters Horn and Billbrook, to the south is the Lohbrügge quarter of the Bergedorf borough. In the east of Billstedt is the place Mümmelmannsberg. Hamburg U-Bahn
The Hamburg U-Bahn is a rapid transit system serving the cities of Hamburg, Norderstedt and Ahrensburg in Germany. Although referred to by the term U-Bahn (the "U" commonly being understood as standing for "underground"), most of the system's track length is above ground. The network is interconnected with the city's S-Bahn system, which also has underground sections. It is operated by Hamburger Hochbahn within the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV). Hamburg-Mitte (Hamburg Central) is one of the seven boroughs of Hamburg, Germany, covering most of the city's urban center. The quarters of Hamburg-Altstadt and Neustadt cover much of the city's historic core. In 2020 the population was 301,231. Mümmelmannsberg is a place and major housing estate in Hamburg, Germany in the quarter of Billstedt. It was named after the street with the same name which already existed before Mümmelmannsberg was built. Billbrook
Billbrook () is a quarter of Hamburg, Germany, in the borough of Hamburg-Mitte. It is located on the southeastern border of the borough adjacent to the borough of Bergedorf. Billbrook is located in a swamp area near the Elbe and Bille rivers, which is described by the name, meaning ''Brook'' (''Bruchwald'', carr) at the river Bille. 2,198 people lived in Billbrook in 2016. Billbrook borders the quarters of Horn, Billstedt, Billwerder, Moorfleet and Rothenburgsort. Bergedorf () is the largest of the seven boroughs of Hamburg, Germany, named after Bergedorf quarter within this borough. In 2020 the population of the borough was 130,994. History The city of Bergedorf received town privileges in 1275, then a part of the younger Duchy of Saxony (1180–1296), which was partitioned by its four co-ruling dukes in 1296 into the branch duchies of Saxe-Lauenburg and Saxe-Wittenberg.
