Lohan (footballer)
Lohan dos Santos Freire (born 20 September 1995), simply known as Lohan, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Portuguesa. Career Lohan was born in Carmo, Rio de Janeiro, and joined Friburguense's youth sides in 2012 after a trial period. After making his first team debut in the 2013 Campeonato Carioca, he was loaned to Cruzeiro in May of that year and returned to the under-20 squad. Back to ''Frizão'' for the 2014 season, Lohan failed to establish himself as a starter, and was loaned to Macaé in April 2016. Back to Friburguense for the 2016 Copa Rio, he scored 11 goals during the competition, including a hat-trick in a 5–0 away win over . On 31 October 2016, Lohan moved to Resende on loan. After featuring rarely, he returned to Friburguense, where he scored 13 goals in 19 matches before returning to Resende again on loan on 24 October 2017. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three Wicket#Dismissing a batsman, wickets with three consecutive delivery (cricket), deliveries. Fans held a collection for Stephenson, and presented him with a hat bought with the proceeds. The term was used in print for the first time in 1865 in the Essex Chronicle, ''Chelmsford Chronicle''. The Copa Rio () is a regional cup competition for football clubs in the Rio de Janeiro state. It is run by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation. Volta Redonda has the record for most trophies won. History The competition was founded in 1991 by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation to decide one of the Rio de Janeiro's Copa do Brasil representatives of the following year (the other being the Campeonato Carioca champion). If the state champion had also won Copa Rio, the representative would have been the tournament runner-up. However, in 1995 the Brazilian Football Confederation established the possibility of a club being invited to dispute Copa do Brasil, and, as a consequence of this, Copa Rio ended up not being interesting for the big teams, so it was discontinued.
