Livry-Gargan
Livry-Gargan () is a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. History During the Middle Ages, the lordship of Livry () was held by members of the House of Garlande before passing to Pierre de Chambly, chamberlain of King PhilipIV, in 1285. On 20 May, 1869, a part of the territory of Livry-Gargan was detached and merged with a part of the territory of Clichy-sous-Bois and a small part of the territory of Gagny to create the commune of Le Raincy. The Hôtel de Ville was erected in a large park formerly known as the "Écu de France" in the early 20th century. The (, ''City hall (administration), City Hall'') is a municipal building in Livry-Gargan, Seine-Saint-Denis, in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, standing on Place François Mitterrand. History Following the French Revolution, meetings of the town council were initially held in one of the buildings attached to the clergy house on Rue de l'Église, near the Church of Notre-Dame de Livry. In 1831, the council moved to an adjacent building still forming part of the clergy house. The possessions of the council at that time included a bust of Louis Philippe I. In the late-19th century, following significant population growth, the council decided to commission a more substantial town hall. The site they selected formed part of a large estate formerly known as the ''Écu de France'' (the shield of France). Grégory Arnolin (born 10 November 1980), known simply as Grégory, is a former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Born in metropolitan France, he played for the Martinique national team. Club career Arnolin was born in Livry-Gargan, Seine-Saint-Denis. At the age of 16 he signed a semi-professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain F.C. but, during his spell at the club, he never played for the first team. Gagny () is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. Geography Gagny is located 10 km to the east of Paris. Until the law of 10 July 1964, the commune was part of the department of Seine-et-Oise.
