Living EP
The Living EP is the debut recording by emo pop band, Josephine Collective, and was released on July 10, 2007 by Warner Bros. Records. Produced by John Feldmann ( Goldfinger) it is a "perfect blend of stuck-in-your-head choruses and smooth melodies". "Living" is the prelude to Josephine Collective's debut album, '' We Are the Air''. Reception Melodic Net's Kaj Roth stated the EP "features 4 strong tracks in the emo vein, the songs are well crafted and the big budget production helps a lot because then they can compete with My Chemical Romance and The Used on the charts." Josephine Collective
Josephine Collective was an emo pop band from Johnson County, Kansas. In 2006, the band, formerly known as Josephine and, previously, Josephine Love Letter, was officially named Josephine Collective. The band signed to Warner Bros. Records after John Feldmann had been introduced to their music via Myspace and invited them to open for his band, Goldfinger. John Feldmann produced their first EP entitled Living EP which was released in 2007. Josephine Collective also recorded their first full-length album with Feldmann in Los Angeles, CA. The album, '' We Are the Air'', was released for digital download on June 24, 2008. The band toured with fellow Warner Bros. John Feldmann
John William Feldmann (born June 29, 1967) is an American musician and record producer. He serves as the lead singer/guitarist of the punk rock band Goldfinger. Early life Feldmann grew up in Saratoga, California. He started writing songs around the age of 12. Around that time, he met the band Social Distortion, and was inspired to be like them. Career Feldmann's first band was Saratoga-based Family Crisis. In 1988, he moved to Los Angeles, where he formed the band Electric Love Hogs and met future Goldfinger bassist Kelly LeMieux. The Electric Love Hogs (which also included Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver and Bobby Hewitt of Orgy) put out one album, their self-titled 1992 debut, which was co-produced by Tommy Lee. Feldmann formed Goldfinger in Los Angeles in 1994 after meeting original Goldfinger bassist Simon Williams in a shoe store where they were both working. Emo Pop
Emo pop (alternatively typeset with a hyphen, also known as emo pop-punk and pop-emo) is a fusion genre combining emo with pop-punk, pop music, or both. Emo pop features a musical style with more concise composition and Hook (music), hook-filled refrain, choruses. Emo pop has its origins in the 1990s with bands like Jimmy Eat World, the Get Up Kids, Weezer and the Promise Ring. Goldfinger (band)
Goldfinger is an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1994. In their early years, the band was considered a contributor to the movement of third-wave ska, a mid-1990s revitalization in the popularity of ska, evidenced in their first three albums: '' Goldfinger'' (1996), '' Hang-Ups'' (1997) and '' Stomping Ground'' (2000). However, the releases of '' Open Your Eyes'' (2002) and '' Disconnection Notice'' (2005) saw the band shed most of the ska influence, and they have been more commonly placed in the pop-punk genre in later years.
