Jazz Radio
Jazz Radio (formerly ''Fréquence Jazz'') is a French radio station dedicated to jazz and soul that started in 1996. Jazz Radio is based in Lyon, France, and broadcasts with around 45 frequencies throughout France and Monaco. History In January 1996 Fréquence Jazz was created by Christophe Mahé (should not be confused with the French singer Christophe Maé) in Lyon on 97.3 MHz and became the first French jazz station broadcasting around the clock. In August 1996, a Parisian version of Fréquence Jazz was created named Paris Jazz but with different programming. The CSA allowed broadcasting in Paris by sharing broadcast time with Générations on 88.2 MHz, also owned by Espace Group. Paris Jazz broadcast between 14:00 – 19:00 and 23:00 – 07:00. The station's format is mainly Dance, RnB and Groove music. M Radio (originally known as MFM Radio) is a radio station, based at Lyon (France) and created in 1981. M is dedicated to only French songs like its local competitor in Île-de-France, Chante France. History In 1981, MFM was created in Lyon, then named as Radio Montmartre, and proposed a format essentially based on French chansons from the 1920s till the 1960s. Following a certain success, Radio Montmartre extended its coverage in the late 1980s. In 1995, it was authorized by the CSA to change its name to "Montmartre FM". Until 1998, MFM was controlled by the RMC Group. The station was then acquired by LV & Co who were owned by Gérard Louvin. After the purchase, Montmartre FM became known simply as MFM.
