The ''Seattle Weekly'' is an alternative biweekly distributed newspaper in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was founded by Darrell Oldham and David Brewster as ''The Weekly.'' Its first issue was published on March 31, 1976, and it became a web-only publication on March 1, 2019. Aqua is a Danish-Norwegian eurodance band, best known for their 1997 single " Barbie Girl". The group formed in 1995 in Copenhagen and achieved international success around the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band released three albums: '' Aquarium'' in 1997, '' Aquarius'' in 2000 and '' Megalomania'' in 2011. The group sold an estimated 33 million albums and singles, making them the most profitable Danish band ever. The group managed to top the UK Singles Chart with three of their singles. The group also caused controversy with the double entendres in their " Barbie Girl" single, with Mattel filing a lawsuit against the group. Annie (Norwegian Singer)
Anne Lilia Berge Strand (born 21 November 1977), known professionally as Annie, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ. She began her recording career in 1999 with the underground hit single " The Greatest Hit" and gained international acclaim, particularly from music bloggers, for her debut album '' Anniemal'' (2004). After completing secondary school, Annie started DJing in Bergen, where she met house producer and soon-to-be boyfriend Tore Kroknes. In 1999, Annie and Kroknes released the single "The Greatest Hit", which sold out in two days and became popular in Norwegian and British nightclubs. Before Annie and Kroknes could release an album, Kroknes died from a congenital heart defect in 2001. Ambitious Lovers
Ambitious Lovers were a musical duo composed of guitarist/singer Arto Lindsay and keyboardist Peter Scherer, active from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. Their music incorporated elements from Brazilian music and funk. Despite strong reviews from critics for their three albums, Ambitious Lovers found little success with mainstream audiences. Band history Lindsay had earlier been active with DNA, a seminal group in New York City's noisy no wave music scene. With Ambitious Lovers, however, Lindsay would reduce the abrasive qualities in his music apart from his own distinctive, untrained guitar style. Instead, Scherer and Lindsay increased the presence of standard pop music elements and conventional songwriting. Alex Gardner, better known by his stage name, A-L-X (born 23 July 1991, Edinburgh, Scotland) is a Scottish pop singer. He released two singles in 2010 as Alex Gardner, " I'm Not Mad" and " Feeling Fine", before changing his stage name to A-L-X and releasing his third single, "Beautiful Criminal", in 2014. Life and career Early life and childhood Gardner was brought up in a musical atmosphere; his mother was a violinist with an orchestra and his older brother, Adam Gardner, is a singer and guitarist in Scottish metal band, Mind Set A Threat. He was given piano lessons from the age of five, but quit at the age of 6. He owned his first guitar when he was 10 years old. AlunaGeorge are an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis and producer George Reid.
