Line A4 (Athens Suburban Railway)
Line A4 is an Athens Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) line in Athens, Greece, managed by Hellenic Train. The service connects Piraeus with the coastal city of Kiato. The line shares a part of its course with lines A1 and A3 as well as Metro line 2, but also with line A3 at Ano Liosia. The first Suburban line was inaugurated on 30 July 2004, using 17 OSE Class 560 DMUs between Larissa Station (Now Athens) and the Airport. With the completion of the electrification of the sections of the line to Athens in 2017 and Piraeus in 2018. The line now exclusively uses OSE class 460 EMUs rolling stock. Siemens Desiro
The Siemens Desiro (, , ) is a family of Diesel multiple unit, diesel or electric multiple unit passenger trains developed by Siemens Mobility, a division of the German Siemens, Siemens AG conglomerate. The main variants are the Desiro Classic, Desiro ML, Desiro UK and the later Desiro City, Desiro HC and Desiro RUS. The trains are mostly used for commuter and regional services, and their rapid acceleration makes them suitable for services with short distances between stations. Kiato
Kiato () is a town in the northern part of Corinthia in the Peloponnese, Greece. It is the seat of the municipality of Sikyona. Kiato is situated on the Gulf of Corinth, near the mouth of the river Asopos. It has much tourist activity mainly in the summer. The ancient city Sicyon was located 4 km southwest of present Kiato. Athens Metro
The Athens Metro () is a rapid transit system serving the Athens urban area in Greece. Line 1 opened as a single-track conventional steam railway in 1869 and was electrified in 1904. Beginning in 1991, Elliniko Metro S.A. constructed and extended Lines 2 and 3. Athens Airport Station
Athens Airport (, ), also known as Athens International Airport (, ) on signage, is a railway station and metro station that serves the international airport of Athens, Greece. It operates on both the Athens Suburban Railway as well as Line 3 of the Athens Metro. It is the first and only train station in Greece that is not managed by GAIAOSE. It is owned by the airport, which charges the train operating companies (Hellenic Train and STASY) fees for its use. History The station opened on 30 July 2004, two weeks before the Athens Olympics. Stadler GTW In Greece
In Greece, there are two similar classes of Stadler GTW trainsets, namely the 560 (standard gauge) and the 4500 (metre gauge), which are operated by Hellenic Train, Hellenic Train and are part of Hellenic Railways Organisation, OSE rolling stock. These are suburban DMUs with two coaches, of type G.T.W. 2/6, which were built by a consortium of Stadler, Bombardier and Hellenic Shipyards and were put into operation by OSE, between 2003 and 2004. The trainsets are either standard (560 class) or metre gauge (4500 series), but with the same technical characteristics (capacity, speed, appearance, manufacturers, power supply and number of coaches). Ano Liosia Railway Station
Ano Liosia () is a train station in Ano Liosia, a western suburb in the municipality of Fyli, West Attica, Attica, Greece. It is located in the median strip of the Attiki Odos motorway, and has a single island platform. The station is the western terminus of the Athens Suburban Railway to and from Athens Airport.
