Lin Shih-chi
Lin Shih-chi (; born 2 August 1939) is a Taiwanese politician who served on the Legislative Yuan from 1987 to 1990, and the Control Yuan from 1999 to 2005. Education and early career After earning a bachelor's and master's degree in law from National Taiwan University, Lin worked as a lawyer and served as president of the ''China Times''. Political career Lin was a member of the Legislative Yuan between 1987 and 1990. In 1999, he was appointed to the Control Yuan, stepping down in 2005. As a member of the Control Yuan, Lin was active in a task force called to investigate James Soong's finances shortly before the 2000 presidential election, in which Soong was a candidate. In August 2000, Lin helped impeach education minister Ovid Tzeng, giving several public statements on the case, which found that Tzeng was a dual citizen of Taiwan and the United States while working at public universities in Taiwan. The Control Yuan is the supervisory and auditory branch of the government of the Republic of China, both during its time in mainland China and Taiwan. The National Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior (NIA; ) is the statutory agency under the Ministry of the Interior (Taiwan), Ministry of Interior of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan) which is responsible for immigration, entry and exit security, Border control, border services and registration of foreigners. The agency is headed by the Director General. The current Director-General is Jeff Jia-Jun Yang. Kuomintang Members Of The Legislative Yuan In Taiwan
The Kuomintang (KMT) is a major political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was the sole ruling party of the country during its rule from 1927 to 1949 in Mainland China until its relocation to Taiwan, and in Taiwan ruled under martial law until 1987. The KMT is a centre-right to right-wing party and the largest in the Pan-Blue Coalition, one of the two main political groups in Taiwan. Its primary rival is the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), the largest party in the Pan-Green Coalition. As of 2025, the KMT is the largest single party in the Legislative Yuan and is chaired by Eric Chu. The party was founded by Sun Yat-sen in 1894 in Honolulu, Hawaii, as the Revive China Society. The Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee (CIPAS; zh, t=不當黨產處理委員會, p=Bùdāng Dǎngchǎn Chǔlǐ Wěiyuánhuì) is an independent government agency of Taiwan established in 2016 by the Act on Promoting Transitional Justice. It is responsible for the investigation and recovery of ill-gotten assets of political parties and their affiliated organizations obtained during the martial law period in Taiwan. All parties established before the lifting of martial law, 15 July 1987, are required to report their party assets to the committee. As the dominant party during the martial law period, the Kuomintang (KMT) and its affiliate organizations are the main targets of this investigation. Ma Ying-jeou ( zh, t=馬英九; pinyin: ''Mǎ Yīngjiǔ''; ; born 13 July 1950) is a Taiwanese politician, lawyer, and legal scholar who served as the sixth president of the Republic of China from 2008 to 2016.
