Len Waters Estate is a small industrial estate of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Len Waters Estate is located 39 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool. Background It was named in honour of Len Waters, the first Aboriginal Australian military aviator. Along with Elizabeth Hills, Len Waters Estate used to be part of a greater Cecil Hills until being developed by Mirvac. Len Waters Estate occupies land formerly part of Hoxton Park Airport. This small industrial suburb mostly consists of two distribution centres, a Transit Systems bus depot and a Bunnings hardware store. Bunnings Group Limited, trading as Bunnings Warehouse or Bunnings, is an Australian hardware and garden centre chain. Hoxton Park Airport
Hoxton Park Airport was a general aviation aerodrome in south-western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The aerodrome was non-towered, and so operated according to Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF) procedures. Traffic was light; at the time of closure three fixed wing and one rotary wing flight training schools operated from this aerodrome, which bordered on a large flight training area, serving Sydney's general aviation community. A commercial skydiving operation was also based at the aerodrome. A self-service AVGAS bowser was available. Cecil Hills
Cecil Hills is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cecil Hills is located 38 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History In 1817, John Wylde, the judge-advocate of New South Wales, was granted in the Parish of Cabramatta. He named his property Cecil Hills after his British property in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. He lived on the property only briefly before leaving to become Chief Justice of the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. His wife Elizabeth remained, however, and managed the property until her death in 1864. It continued as a farm through until the 1980s when it was decided to redevelop it for housing.
