Legoland (theme)
Legoland (, trademarked in uppercase as LEGOLAND) is a chain of family amusement parks focusing on the Lego building toy brand. They are owned and operated by the British theme park company Merlin Entertainments, which shares a common owner ( Kirkbi A/S) with the Lego Group. The Legoland Billund Resort opened in Billund, Denmark, in 1968, followed by the Legoland Windsor Resort in Windsor, United Kingdom, in 1996. Further parks opened in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), the United States (California, Florida, and New York), and a Legoland Water Park at Gardaland in Castelnuovo del Garda, Italy throughout the 21st century. In 2025, a park in Shanghai was opened with three more in China currently under construction (Beijing, Sichuan, and Shenzhen). Family Entertainment Center
A family entertainment center (FEC) in the entertainment industry, also known as an indoor amusement park, family amusement center, family fun center, soft play, or simply fun center, is a small amusement park marketed towards families with small children to teenagers, often entirely indoors. They usually cater to "sub-regional markets of larger metropolitan areas." Legoland Water Park Gardaland is a waterpark in Italy. It is located at the Gardaland theme park and can only be accessed via the theme park. The park was originally scheduled to open in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to Summer of 2021. Legoland Sichuan
Legoland Sichuan is an upcoming theme park and resort located in Shigao, Sichuan, China. The resort started construction on June 8, 2020, and is planned to open in 2025. Plans The project is led by Merlin Entertainment. On 27 September 2019, Merlin and Global Zhongjun announced a Legoland Resort in Sichuan Province. The resort was scheduled to open in 2023, however, it was pushed back to its current date. The resort area covers 57 hectares, with a building area of 159,000 square metres spread over 10 themed areas. The estimated construction cost is CN¥3 billion (US$412 million). Legoland Korea () is a theme park in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea, Gangwon Province, South Korea. It opened on May 5, 2022. Legoland Korea Resort covers 280,000 square meters (3.01 million square feet), making it the 2nd largest in Asia behind Legoland Malaysia Resort which covers 76 acres of land. Legoland Florida Resort (stylized as LEGOLAND Florida Resort) is a vacation destination in Winter Haven, Florida.
