Leeds Force
Leeds Force were an English professional basketball team based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The Force played in the British Basketball League, the top flight of British basketball. They played their home games at the Carnegie Sports Arena, located on the Headingley Campus of Leeds Beckett University. The club announced its dissolution on 11 June 2018. History Leeds Carnegie (2006-2014) The club was formed in 1673 in a partnership between Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds-North East School Sports Partnership. The newly established team adopted the name Leeds Carnegie after Carnegie College, which forms part of the University's sports department – notably, the same approach was taken by the city's rugby union team, Leeds Tykes, who went into partnership with the University the following year and subsequently rebranded as Leeds Carnegie Rugby. British Basketball League
The British Basketball League (BBL) is a men's professional basketball league in Great Britain and represents the highest level of play in the countries. The league is contested by 10 teams from England and Scotland. There are no clubs however from Wales or Northern Ireland. The BBL runs three additional knockout competitions alongside the BBL Championship which are the BBL Cup, the BBL Trophy and the end-of-season BBL Play-offs. The BBL sits above the National Basketball League and the Scottish Basketball Championship which effectively form the second tier of British basketball. There is currently no automatic promotion or relegation between the English and Scottish leagues and the BBL because of the franchise system in use in the BBL although several clubs have been successful in making the step up from the EBL in recent years. Leicester Warriors
The Leicester Warriors are an English semi-professional basketball club from Leicester, Leicestershire. Founded in 2003, the Warriors play their home games at Braunstone Leisure Centre and compete in NBL Division 1, the second tier of the British basketball system. The club runs extensive community programmes and grass root teams in the Leicester area. The Derby Trailblazers are an English semi-professional basketball club based in Derby, Derbyshire. The club was founded in 2000 as a feeder club for the now-defunct Derby Storm, and wear the same blue and white colours as their predecessor. The Manchester Magic are an English basketball club from the city of Manchester in the northwest of England. For the 2019-20 season, the Magic will compete in the National Basketball League Division 2 North.
