LeVar Woods
LeVar Woods (born March 15, 1978) is the special teams coach at the University of Iowa, where he played linebacker during his college career. As a professional football player, he was originally signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2001, played for a season and a half with the Detroit Lions (2005–2006), and finished his career with the Tennessee Titans (2006–2007). Early life Woods attended West Lyon High School in Larchwood, Iowa and was a letterman in football, basketball, and track. He graduated from West Lyon High School in 1996. Woods was the Iowa 2A player of the year as a senior. College career Woods attended the University of Iowa, and was a letterman in football. Playing for both Hayden Fry and Kirk Ferentz, he was a two-year starter as an outside linebacker. He finished his spectacular college career with four sacks and 165 tackles. The Iowa Hawkeyes football program represents the University of Iowa in college football. The Hawkeyes compete in the Big Ten Conference. Iowa joined the Conference (then known as the Western Conference or Big Nine) in 1899 and played their first Conference football season in 1900. 2001 NFL Draft
The 2001 NFL draft was the 66th draft annual of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible professional football players. The draft, which is officially referred to as the "NFL Player Selection Meeting", was held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on April 21–22, 2001. Each team is assigned one pick per round with the order based generally on the reverse order of finish in the previous season with the team with the worst record receiving the first draft slot. Exceptions to this are the Super Bowl participants from the previous season — the champion Baltimore Ravens were assigned the final draft slot and the runner-up New York Giants assigned the 30th slot in each round. Christian Kirksey
Christian Paul Kirksey (born August 31, 1992) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2014 NFL draft. He was also a member of the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills. Early life Kirksey attended Hazelwood East High School in Hazelwood, Missouri, where he played on the football team and was coached by Mike Jones. He was first-team all-conference as a senior after earning honorable mention recognition as a junior. He recorded 163 tackles as a senior, with nine tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Jim Reid (American Football)
James T. Reid (born December 1, 1950) is an American college football coach and former player. He is an analyst for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a position he held since 2023. Reid served as head football coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) from 1986 to 1991, University of Richmond from 1995 through 2003, and Virginia Military Institute (VMI) from 2006 until 2007, compiling an overall college football record of 87–101–3. Norm Parker
Norm Parker (October 9, 1941 – January 13, 2014) was an American football coach. He was the defensive coordinator of the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1999 to 2011. In 2005, Parker was a finalist for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach. The 2010 Iowa Hawkeyes football team represented the University of Iowa in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hawkeyes, led by 12th year head coach Kirk Ferentz, were members of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.
