David Lasser
David Lasser (March 20, 1902 – May 5, 1996) was an American writer and political activist. Lasser is remembered as an influential figure of early science fiction writing, working closely with Hugo Gernsback. He was also heavily involved in the workers’ rights struggles of the Great Depression. Early years Lasser was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Jewish immigrant parents from Russia. His family moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up. He left high school at 16 to enlist in the Army in World War I, lying about his age. After being gassed on the front lines in France, he was honourably discharged as a Sergeant in 1919. Despite never graduating from high school, he was admitted to M.I.T., graduating with a B.S. in Engineering Administration. Franz-Josef Lässer (born 17 January 2001) is an Austrian para-cyclist who competes in road and track events. He represented Austria at the 2024 Summer Paralympics. Career In March 2024, Lässer represented Austria at the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships and won silver medals in the scratch race and omnium, and a bronze medal in the individual pursuit C5 events. In September 2024, he then competed at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in track cycling and finished in fourth place in the individual pursuit C5 event, and 12th place in the time trial C4–5 event. Louise Lasser (born April 11, 1939) is an American actress, television writer, and performing arts teacher and director. She is known for her portrayal of the title character on the soap opera satire '' Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman'', for which she was Primetime Emmy Award nominated. She made her Broadway debut in the musical '' I Can Get It for You Wholesale'' (1962). Philip Lasser
Philip Lasser (born August 4, 1963) is an American composer, pianist, and music theorist. He is a member of the faculty at the Juilliard School in New York City. Career and contributions Lasser was born in New York City and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. At age sixteen, he entered the Ecole d'Arts Americaines in the Palace of Fontainebleau, France. He studied at Harvard University and, following receipt of a Bachelor's degree, he lived in Paris from 1985 to 1988. In 1988 Lasser entered Columbia University for a Master's degree in Composition, then entered Juilliard, receiving a degree in Doctor of Musical Arts. He wrote an academic work on the contrapuntal analysis of music entitled ''The Spiraling Tapestry'', published by Rassel Editions. His piece ''Twelve Variations on a Chorale by J. S.
