Leonard Davies (9 November 1936 – 19 April 2024), known professionally as Larry Page, was an English pop singer and record producer, primarily from the late 1950s until the early 1970s and briefly in the 1990s. Biography Leonard Davies was born in Hayes, Hillingdon, Middlesex in 1936. After changing his name to Larry Page, in honour of Larry Parks, the star of '' The Jolson Story'' (1946), the teenager began a recording career as a singer. Page tried to magnify his fame through the wearing of unusually large spectacles, as "Larry Page the Teenage Rage". The title was originally coined by Jack Bentley, the showbusiness correspondent from '' The Sunday Pictorial''. He toured the United Kingdom with Cliff Richard and appeared at top venues, including the Royal Albert Hall. Hayes is a town in west London. Historically situated within the county of Middlesex, it is now part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. The town's population, including its localities Hayes End, Harlington and Yeading, was recorded in the 2021 census as 93,928. It is situated west of Charing Cross, or east of Slough. ''Kinky Music'' is a studio album by the Larry Page Orchestra, released on 18 June 1965 by Decca Records. The album consists of orchestral middle of the road or easy listening arrangements of compositions by Ray Davies, principal songwriter of the English rock band the Kinks, whom Larry Page then managed. The album fit in a trend of orchestral arrangements of popular British rock acts, like George Martin's 1964 album '' Off the Beatle Track''. Davies did not participate in any aspect of the album's creation, nor did any of the Kinks perform on it. James Patrick Page (born 9 January 1944) is an English musician and producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the Rock music, rock band Led Zeppelin. Page began his career as a studio session musician in London and, by the mid-1960s, was one of the most sought-after session guitarists in Britain. He was a member of the Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968. "Wild Thing" is a song written by American songwriter Chip Taylor and popularized by the English rock band the Troggs. It was originally recorded and released by the American rock band the Wild Ones in 1965, but it did not chart. The Troggs' single reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart in 1966. Their version of "Wild Thing" was ranked at number 257 on the ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It has also been performed by many other musicians. Penny Farthing Records was a British independent record label, established in 1969 by the British record producer Larry Page as a progression from his mildly successful 1960s record label, Page One Records. The label signed some artists of note. It released a number of hit songs, including "Venus" by Shocking Blue, " Beautiful Sunday" by Daniel Boone, " Blue Is the Colour" by the Chelsea football team, and "Sleepy Shores" by the Johnny Pearson and His Orchestra. Page One Records, established in 1966, was the UK independent record label, owned by the producer/manager, Larry Page. They were involved in a court case in July 1967 with The Troggs. 9681 WLR 157; 9673 All ER 822; (1967) 111 SJ 944 The label, which was co-founded by Page and Dick James, released hits from The Troggs, Vanity Fare and Plastic Penny, as well as numerous failed attempts by Page himself to obtain his own hit record.
