Landmark (Asian Kung-Fu Generation Album)
Landmark is the seventh studio album by the Japanese Rock music, rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, released on September 12, 2012. History In late 2011, Gotoh confirmed in his diary that the band were in the studio recording new songs. In July 2012, shortly after their 2012 Nano-Mugen Festival, the title and release date of the album were announced, along with a 22-show nationwide tour in support of the album. On August 2, Gotoh claimed that the album "is a masterpiece" via Twitter. On August 8, the album art was revealed, credited to Yusuke Nakamura, a long time art collaborator with the band. The track list was also confirmed, revealing that "All Right Part 2" will be the second song to appear on both a Nano-Mugen Compilation and a studio album (the first being "Blackout", which appeared on the first Nano-Mugen Compilation as well as ''Fanclub (album), Fanclub''.) Surf Bungaku Kamakura
is the fifth studio album released by the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, released on November 5, 2008. The album peaked at the second position on both the Oricon charts and ''Billboard Japan'' as well as at number eighteen on the World Chart. Its lead single, " Fujisawa Loser" managed to peak at number five on the Japan Hot 100 and at the number six spot on Oricon. The album's tracks are named after notable stops along the famous Enoshima Electric Railway in order starting from Fujisawa and ending with Kamakura. Additionally, it includes the three b-sides "Enoshima Escar," "Yuigahama Kite," and "Kugenama Surf" released over the past two years within " Korogaru Iwa, Kimi ni Asa ga Furu," " After Dark," and " Aru Machi no Gunjō" respectively. Chatmonchy
was a three-piece all-female rock band which consisted of Eriko Hashimoto (guitar, vocals), Akiko Fukuoka (bass, chorus), and formerly Kumiko Takahashi (drums, chorus) who are from Tokushima Prefecture on the island of Shikoku, Japan. Since 2005, they were signed to Sony Music Japan's Ki/oon Records record label. In November 2017, the band announced that they were disbanding. The band had their final one-man concert on July 4, 2018, at the Nippon Budokan, and held their last "Konason Fest" on July 21 and 22. Takahiro Yamada (musician)
is the bass player and backing vocalist of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Yamada met fellow band members Masafumi Gotoh and Kensuke Kita while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. While Gotoh acts the main songwriter of the band, Yamada has composed music for certain songs, such as After Dark, Re:Re:, Siren and Sore dewa, Mata Ashita. Kiyoshi Ijichi
(born September 25, 1977) is the drummer of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Ijichi credits the origin of his drumming ability to playing in marching bands in junior high. He met fellow band members Masafumi Gotō, Kensuke Kita, and Takahiro Yamada while attending Kanto Gakuin University in 1996. Unlike the others, Ijichi had prior band experience and was a member of another college band when approached by the three. After parting ways with his old band, Ijichi joined Gotō, Kita, and Yamada to form Asian Kung-Fu Generation and the four have been together ever since. Aside from drumming, Ijichi is a skilled pianist and can be heard playing an excerpt of "Claire de Lune" from Debussy's ''Suite bergamasque'' for the intro of "Moonlight." Kensuke Kita
(January 24, 1977) is the lead guitarist and backing singer of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Kensuke met fellow band members Masafumi Gotō and Takahiro Yamada while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. While he primarily performs as background vocals, he sang lead vocals on, "Uso to Wonderland", "Seaside Sleeping", "Time Traveler", "Hakkei" and "Omatsuri No Ato", all of them are B-sides from the band's singles. Masafumi Gotoh
(December 2, 1976) is the lead vocalist, main songwriter and rhythm guitarist of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Masafumi met fellow band members Kensuke Kita and Takahiro Yamada while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. As the main songwriter of the band, Gotoh is credited with writing a majority of their lyrics, but has a strong tendency to share songwriting duties equally among his bandmates. His vocal style most often alternates between soft, melodic singing, and harder, harsher, yelling.
