Lampung, officially the Province of Lampung (; ), is a province of Indonesia. It is located on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra. It has a short border with the province of Bengkulu to the northwest, and a longer border with the province of South Sumatra to the north, as well as a maritime border with the provinces of Banten and Jakarta to the east. It is the home of the Lampung people, who speak their own language and possess their own written script. Its capital city is Bandar Lampung. Lampung Nyo
Lampung or Lampungic (''cawa Lampung'') is an Austronesian language or dialect cluster with around 1.5 million native speakers, who primarily belong to the Lampung ethnic group of southern Sumatra, Indonesia. It is divided into two or three varieties: Lampung Api (also called Pesisir or A-dialect), Lampung Nyo (also called Abung or O-dialect), and Komering. The latter is sometimes included in Lampung Api, sometimes treated as an entirely separate language. Komering people see themselves as ethnically separate from, but related to, Lampung people. Although Lampung has a relatively large number of speakers, it is a minority language in the province of Lampung, where most of the speakers live. Concerns over the endangerment of the language has led the provincial government to implement the teaching of Lampung language and script for primary and secondary education in the province. Bandar Lampung
Bandar Lampung ( Lampungese: ''Kutak Bandarlampung''; formerly Dutch: ''Oosthaven'', ) is the capital and largest city of the Indonesian province of Lampung. Located on the southern tip of Sumatra, Bandar Lampung was originally called Tanjungkarang–Telukbetung, since it was a unification of two major settlements in Lampung, before being renamed in 1983. Lampung People
The Lampung or Lampungese (''Jamma Lampung'' ; ''Ulun Lappung'' ) are an indigenous ethnic group native to Lampung and some parts of South Sumatra (especially in Martapura region of East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Muaradua district of South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Kayu Agung district of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency), Bengkulu (in Merpas district of Kaur Regency), as well as in the southwest coast of Banten (in Cikoneng of Serang Regency). They speak the Lampung language, a Lampungic language estimated to have 1.5 million speakers. Origins The origins of the Lampung people is closely tied to the name of Lampung itself. Rahmat Mirzani Djausal (born 18 March 1980) is an Indonesian businessman and politician of the Gerindra Party who is the governor of Lampung, taking office in February 2025. He had previously served one term between 2019 and 2024 in the Lampung Regional House of Representatives. Early life and education Rahmat Mirzani Djausal was born on 18 March 1980 in the town of Kota Bumi, in North Lampung Regency of Lampung. Rahmat is the son of Faisol Djausal, a Lampung-based construction businessman. He completed middle school in Kota Bumi, and then high school in Tanjung Karang. Jihan Nurlela
Jihan Nurlela Chalim (born 22 April 1994) is an Indonesian politician who is the vice governor of Lampung since 20 February 2025. She had previously served as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the Lampung Province from 2019 to 2024. Education Jihan Nurlela obtained her early education at the Islamic Boarding School of Futuhiyyah Islamic Boarding School Mranggen in Demak, and Al-Ishom Gleget Islamic Boarding School in Jepara. Komering is a Lampungic language spoken by the Komering people, an indigenous ethnic group native to Komering regions alongside the Komering River in South Sumatra, Indonesia. Balinese Language
Balinese is an Austronesian language spoken on the Indonesian island of Bali, as well as Northern Nusa Penida, Western Lombok, Southern Sumatra, and Sulawesi.
