Lambda Warsaw
Lambda Warsaw Association (Polish: ''Stowarzyszenie Lambda Warszawa'') is the oldest operating Polish LGBT organisation. It was founded in October 1997 by activists of Rainbow Centre (''Ośrodek “Rainbow”''), which existed from 1995 to 1997. As a public interest organisation, its aim is to create a positive gay and lesbian identity, and build social tolerance toward sexual minorities. In 2004, the association acquired the status of a public interest organisation (OPP), and has been a part of the Mazowia Federation since then. Social exclusion or social marginalisation is the social disadvantage and relegation to the fringe of society. It is a term that has been used widely in Europe and was first used in France in the late 20th century. In the EU context, the European Commission defines it as ''"a situation whereby a person is prevented (or excluded) from contributing to and benefiting from economic and social progress"''. LGBTQ Rights In Poland
LGBTQ, Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people in Poland face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBTQ residents. According to ILGA-Europe's 2025 report, the status of LGBTQ rights in Poland is among the worst of the European Union countries. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity were decriminalized in 1932, when the country introduced an equal age of consent for homosexuals and heterosexuals, which was set at 15. Yga Kostrzewa
Yga Kostrzewa (born 12 September 1973) is a Polish economist, LGBTQ+ rights activist and writer. Biography Kostrzewa was educated at the T. Baird State Music School. She graduated with a master's degree in management from the University of Warsaw in 1998. Kostrzewa has been an activist with Lambda Warsaw since 1998, serving as chairwoman (2005-2007) and spokeswoman (2002-2022). She has campaigned for marriage equality and has challenged homophobia in Poland. In 2005, then Mayor of Warsaw, Lech Kaczyński, refused to allow the gay pride parade in Warsaw, locally known as the Parada Równości (equality parade), to take place in the city. A microgrant is a small sum of money distributed to an individual or organization, typically for hundreds or thousands of dollars, with the intent of enabling the recipient to develop or sustain an income-generating enterprise. Kazimierz Julian Kutz (16 February 1929 – 18 December 2018) was a Polish film director, author, journalist and politician, one of the representatives of the Polish Film School and a deputy speaker of the Senate of Poland. Biography Kazimierz Kutz was born on 16 February 1929 in Szopienice, since 1960 district of Katowice, to a railway worker and a former partisan of the Silesian Uprisings. Campaign Against Homophobia (, KPH) is a Polish LGBTQ rights organisation, which aims to promote legal and social equality for people outside of heteronormativity, heteronormality.
