Kwon Yang-sook
Kwon Yang-sook (; born December 23, 1947) was the First Lady of South Korea from 2003 to 2008. She is the widow of the ninth president of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, who committed suicide on May 23, 2009. Career She is a Buddhist, with the Dharma name ''Daedeokhwa'', and won support from the Buddhist community during her husband's presidential campaign. After Roh's term ended, Kwon was embroiled in a bribery scandal involving her husband. According to Roh's website, Kwon borrowed $1 million from Park Yeon-Cha, CEO of Taekwang Industry, to repay a personal debt. Impostor In November 2018, a woman falsely claiming to be Kwon Yang-sook convinced the mayor of Gwanju at the time, Yoon Jang-hyun, to transfer her 450 million won. According to reports, the impostor claimed that she needed the requested money for her daughter and would pay it back hastily. First Lady Of South Korea
The first lady of the Republic of Korea (), commonly known as the first lady of South Korea, is the title held by the hostess of the Presidential Residence of South Korea, presidential residence, usually the wife of the president of South Korea. The position of first lady is currently held by Kim Hye-kyung, as president Lee Jae-myung's wife. Kwon (Korean Name)
Kwon also written as Gwon ( ) is a Korean family name. Some sources list as many as 56 clans, but most of them were merged with the Andong Gwon clan under the Sijeung-gong faction soon after the establishment of the Goryeo Kingdom. Andong Kwon clan The founder of Andong Kwon clan, Kim Haeng (金幸), was originally a royalty of the Silla Gyeongju Kim clan. He participated in the Battle of Gochang and helped Taejo, who established the Kingdom of Goryeo in 918; the new king bestowed upon Kim Haeng a new surname: Kwon (權), as he could judge the situation correctly and achieve a purpose flexibly (能炳幾達權). Taekwang Industrial Co, Ltd. () is a South Korean chemical and textile company headquartered in the Jangchung-dong area of central Seoul, with plants located in China as well as in Korea.
