Travis Kvapil
Travis Wade Kvapil ( ; born March 1, 1976) is an American former professional stock car driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, driving the No. 1 Chevrolet Silverado for Beaver Motorsports. He was the 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion. Early career Kvapil grew up working on cars in his father's garage, and racing was a natural progression for the Wisconsin native. Kvapil began racing in 1992 at the age of 16 at Rockford Speedway, competing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. He went on to win the American Short Tracker division track championship in 1994 at Rockford. In 1995, he moved up to super late models at Madison International Speedway, "Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile", and was named the track Rookie of the Year. Carson Wade Kvapil (born May 22, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 1 Chevrolet SS for JR Motorsports. He is the son of 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil and older brother of Super Late Model driver Caden Kvapil. Racing career In 2017, Kvapil ran in select events in the Southeast Limited Late Model Series as well as the Challenger Division. It was in the latter series where he won in two of three starts in the division that year, with those wins coming at Dillon Motor Speedway and Florence Motor Speedway. Hana Kvapilová (29 November 1860 – 8 April 1907) was a Czech actress. Early life Johanna Kubesch (Hana Kubešová) was born in Prague, the daughter of Gustav Kubeš. Her father ran an established gilding workshop. Later he wanted to get rich in land speculation but failed and lost almost all the family money. Her mother, strongly religious, was raised in a parsonage. She was probably the priest's daughter. She studied at a girls' high school in Prague but she found little interest in studying and her school performance was average. She was interested in theatre from a young age. Her piano teacher was Antonín Dvořák. After her father's bankruptcy, she lived in considerable material poverty. Her father was an amateur actor and painted sets for amateur theater groups. Jaroslav Kvapil
Jaroslav Kvapil (25 September 1868 – 10 January 1950) was a Czech poet, theatre director, translator, playwright and librettist. Early life, education and family Jaroslav Josef Kvapil was born on 25 September 1868 in Chudenice, into the family of a psysician. He attended schools in Klatovy and Plzeň and graduated from the secondary school in 1886. He then gradually tried to study three fields (medicine, philology, law) at the Charles University, but finished none of them. Jaroslav Kvapil was married to actress Hana Kvapilová (née Kubešová) from 1894 until her death in 1907. They met in 1890. Marek Kvapil
Marek Kvapil (born 5 January 1985) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He has won the Gagarin Cup twice with Dynamo in 2012 and 2013. Although born in the Slovak city of Ilava, Kvapil has represented the Czech Republic in various international competitions. Playing career After training in HC Slavia Praha's development program, Kvapil moved to North America after being drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the first round (11th overall) of the 2004 CHL Import Draft. Jaroslav Kvapil (composer)
Jaroslav Kvapil (21 April 1892 – 18 February 1958) was a Czech composer, teacher, conductor and pianist. Life and career Born in Fryšták, he studied with Josef Nešvera and worked as a chorister in Olomouc from 1902 to 1906. He then studied at the Brno School of Organists under Leoš Janáček, earning a diploma in 1909. He studied with Max Reger at the Leipzig Conservatory from 1911 through 1913. Kvapil was an excellent accompanist, noted for his skill in sight reading. Radoslav Kvapil
Radoslav Kvapil (born 15 March 1934 in Brno) is a Czech pianist. At the end of the 20th century, he devoted his concert programmes to works by Frédéric Chopin, particularly in France, in the Chopin International Piano Festival in Nohant. On 21 October 2016 Radoslav gave a recital of Beethoven, Chopin, Dvořák, Janáček and Martinů at St Mary's Parish Church in Hay-on-Wye. He has recorded a CD for Alto of Chopin Complete Ballades and Impromptus, some of which he performed at the concert.
