''Kuruption!'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Kurupt. It was released on Antra Records, a label formed after Kurupt left Death Row Records. It was released as a double album and distributed by A&M Records. Originally scheduled for release on September 1, 1998, with the album cover even announcing that date, the album was pushed back to October 6, 1998. Production Kurupt was the executive producer of the album. It features guest appearances from numerous rappers from both the East Coast and West Coast, including Daz Dillinger, Noreaga, Tray Deee, Roscoe, and Dr. Dre. Disc one is labeled as "West Coast" and disc two is labeled as "East Coast". Ricardo Emmanuel Brown (born November 23, 1972), better known by his stage name Kurupt, is an American rapper and record producer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he formed Tha Dogg Pound in 1992 along with Daz Dillinger; the rap duo has released eight albums. He also formed the hip hop group The Hrsmn in 1996, with whom he has released two albums. His debut solo album, '' Kuruption!'' (1998) was released by A&M Records and peaked at number eight on the ''Billboard'' 200. Personal life Ricardo Emmanuel Brown was born in Philadelphia. Tracy Lamar Davis (born April 27, 1966), better known as Big Tray Deee or simply Tray Deee, is an American rapper. He is a member of rap group Tha Eastsidaz (alongside Goldie Loc and Snoop Dogg), as well as the Diirty OGz (alongside Tha Chill, Kurupt and Weazel Loc). ''Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha'' is the second studio album by the American rapper Kurupt. It was released in 1999 through Antra Records with distribution from Artemis Records. The album contains the single "Who Ride Wit Us". The track "Callin' Out Names" is a diss track directed toward rappers Foxy Brown and DMX. By January 2001, the album had sold 440,000 copies. Recording In an interview with ''HipHopDX'', Kurupt explained his mindset throughout the recording process of ''Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha'': "I was back to gangbangin' and I was back into a real solemn – a real low state, angry and upset and pissed".
