Kostas Petropoulos
Konstantinos "Kostas" Petropoulos () is a Greek former professional basketball coach, and a retired professional basketball player. During his playing career, he was nicknamed "Nureyev". His number 7 jersey was retired by Apollon Patras, in 2016. On 1 February 2020, the Kostas Petropoulos Indoor Hall basketball arena, was named after him, in his honor. Professional career During his pro club career, Petropoulos played basketball with the Greek club Apollon Patras, from 1971 to 1987. On 4 April 1976, in a Greek Second Division game between Apollon Patras and Agrinio, Petropoulos scored 93 points. On 11 January 1986, in a Greek First Division game between Apollon Patras and Ionikos Nikaias, Petropoulos scored 51 points. After having six surgeries due to injuries, Petropoulos retired from playing pro club basketball in 1987, at the age of 31. Patras

In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. Greek National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team () represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked 13th in the FIBA World Ranking. Greece have appeared nine times at the FIBA World Cup, with their best result coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece have taken part in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice, while also coming away with one silver (1989), as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). Greek Basketball League System
The Greek basketball league system is a number of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Greece. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and relegation system between competitions at different levels. There are nine different competition levels in the system. The highest level competitions are the professional and semi professional nationwide competitions, which include the top-tier level Greek Basketball League (GBL), the second-tier level Greek A2 Basketball League, the third-tier level Greek B Basketball League, and the fourth-tier level Greek C Basketball League. Those competitions are then followed by the regional amateur level competitions, which include: the A1, the A2, the B, the C, and/or the C1, and the C2 categories. Agrinio (Greek language, Greek: Αγρίνιο, ; Latin: ''Agrinium'') is the largest city of the Aetolia-Acarnania regional units of Greece, regional unit of Greece and its largest municipality, with 89,691 inhabitants (2021) as well as the second largest city in Western Greece after Patras.
