Nigel Kol
Nigel Kol (born 1 January 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong and Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Originally from Geelong Football League club Lara, Kol made his senior VFL debut for Geelong in the 1983 VFL season, one of them with his identical twin brother Michael. After failing to play a senior game in 1984, Kol made his way to Melbourne and played nine games for his new club in the second half of the 1985 VFL season. He was then a regular member of the side in 1986, featuring in 17 of a possible 22 games. Although Michael Kol was still playing at Geelong during this time, the brothers never had to play against each other as one was invariably never picked whenever Geelong and Melbourne met. When his league career ended, Kol and his brother moved to Warrnambool where they ran a hotel together. He continued playing in the Hampden Football League with South Warrnambool and was a member of premiership teams in 1990 and 19 ... Kol (dinosaur)
''Kol'' (from the Mongolian хөл/''köl'', meaning "foot") is an extinct genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Mongolia. The type and only species is ''Kol ghuva'' (from the Mongolian гува/''ghuv-a'', meaning "beautiful"). The type specimen was excavated from the Ukhaa Tolgod locality of the Djadochta Formation, dating to about 75 million years ago. It is believed to have been about twice the size of the contemporaneous ''Shuvuuia''. However, unlike ''Shuvuuia'', which is known from many well preserved specimens, and although Ukhaa Tolgod has been thoroughly explored, ''Kol'' is known only from one complete foot, suggesting that it must have been relatively rare in that ecosystem. Because of the incomplete nature of the type specimen (catalog number IGM 100/2011), the exact relationship of ''Kol'' to other coelurosaurs has been difficult to determine. However, ''Kol'' shows an extreme arctometatarsalian condition of the foot bones, in whic ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Kol uprising, also known in British records as the Kol mutiny was a revolt of the tribal Kol people of Chhota Nagpur that took place between 1831 and 1832. Tribal people of Chotanagpur including Mundas, Oraons, Hos and Bhumijs were called Kols. They initially plundered and killed Sikh and Muslims thikedars (contractors) who collected taxes by different means. Later they also started to plunder and kill Hindus of nearby villages and burn their houses. The insurgency was suppressed by killing of the leaders, their followers and arrest of many leaders by Thomas Wilkinson.
