Kochi State assembly constituency is one of the 140 state legislative assembly constituencies in Kerala in southern India. It is also one of the seven state legislative assembly constituencies included in Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency. As of the 2016 assembly elections, the current MLA is Maxi of CPI(M). Marine Drive, Kochi
Marine Drive, officially the APJ Abdul Kalam Marg, is a promenade in Kochi, India. It is built facing the Kerala Backwaters, backwaters. Despite its name, no vehicles are allowed on the walkway. With several shopping malls it is as an important centre of shopping activity in Kochi. The walkway starts from the Kerala High Court junction and continues until the Rajendra Maidan. There are also several jetty, boat jetties along the walkway. The walkway has three bridges: the Rainbow bridge, the Chinese Fishing Net Bridge and the House Boat Bridge. Thoppumpady
Thoppumpady is a Town of Kochi, Kerala. The Thoppumpady Bridge connects Willingdon Island with the Fort Kochi peninsula. Geography It is located at . How to reach Thoppumpady is about 9 km away from the South Railway Station. It has bus services to particular locations in the city. It is connected to the Willington Island via the Mattancherry Bridge built by the British in the pre-independence period popular among the local community as "Old Harbour Bridge" or "Pazhaya Thoppumpady Paalam" in the local dialect. This bridge is a classic work of the British engineering division. The centre of the bridge can be raised to let bigger boats pass under it. 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held in Kerala on 6 April 2021 to elect 140 Member of the Legislative Assembly (India), members to the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The results were declared on 2 May. The election saw the incumbent Left Democratic Front (Kerala), Left Democratic Front (LDF) retaining power with 99 seats, 8 more than in the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, previous election, marking the first time that an alliance won consecutive terms in the state since its 1977 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, 1977 election. The thirteenth Kerala legislative assembly election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members representing 140 constituencies in Kerala. Election results were released on 13 May 2011. Chellanam
Chellanam is a village and a suburb of Kochi city in the Indian state of Kerala. History Chellanam formed the southern border of the pre-colonial Kingdom of Cochin. In 1510, Goa was captured by the Portuguese general Alfonso Albuquerque from the Adil Shah dynasty of Bijapur, and Portuguese rule was established. The Kudumbis, along with Gouda Saraswat Brahmins (Malayalam: ഗൌഡ് സാരസ്വത്), Daivajnas and Vaishya Vanis who wanted to preserve their religious and cultural identity, migrated from Goa along the west coast of India, primarily through sea voyages. Some of the groups that fled Goa landed in coastal districts of state of Karnataka, that is, the Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, and some groups voyaged further to Kerala.
