Kirtland Records
Kirtland Records is a record label based in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Los Angeles, California and New York City. It was co-founded by Deep Blue Something drummer John Kirtland and his wife, Jenny Kirtland of The Polyphonic Spree. History Kirtland Records was founded by John Kirtland, the drummer of alternative rock band Deep Blue Something. After the band broke apart, Kirtland went to work at Trauma Records, an Interscope-affiliated label which launched artists such as Bush and No Doubt. When Trauma Records founder Rob Kahane encountered financial difficulties, he borrowed money from Kirtland, offering as collateral the rights to the Bush back-catalog and royalty rights on the sales of the No Doubt album ''Tragic Kingdom''. After Kahane defaulted on his debt, Kirtland sold the No Doubt royalty rights but kept the Bush back catalog rights. Tragic Kingdom
''Tragic Kingdom'' is the third studio album by American rock band No Doubt, released on October 10, 1995, by Trauma Records and Interscope Records. It was the final album to feature original keyboardist Eric Stefani, who left the band in 1994. The album was produced by Matthew Wilder and recorded in 11 studios in the Greater Los Angeles area between March 1993 and October 1995. Between 1995 and 1998, the album spawned seven singles, including " Just a Girl", which charted on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart; and " Don't Speak", which topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Airplay and reached the top five of many international charts. Pat McGee Band
The Pat McGee Band is a rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed by frontman Pat McGee, who attended Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. After a brief stint learning the piano, he started to play the left-handed guitar owned by his brother, Hugh. On the heels of his solo release '' From the Wood'' in 1995, the Pat McGee Band signed with Warner Bros. Records subsidiary Giant Records in 1999. '' Shine'', the band's major-label debut, was released in 2000 with the national singles "Runaway" and "Rebecca". The Hourly Radio
The Hourly Radio was a Dallas based band consisting of Aaron Closson (vocals and guitar), Ryan Short (guitar), Adam Vanderkolk (drums) and Tim Jansen (bass). Origin The band was formed by Aaron Closson and Ryan Short in 2003 when the two met and began writing songs together. After just a few months they managed to borrow the requisite gear from friends and recruited the rest of the line up, which included one of Short's old high school friends, Adam Vanderkolk. After the original bassist Nick Flatt left the band Tim Jansen replaced him in August 2004. The Flys (US Band)
The Flys are an American rock band, formed in Hollywood in 1994 by Adam Paskowitz and Josh Paskowitz. They are the sons of Doc Paskowitz, described by the New York Times as the "First Family of Surfing." The band has shared the stage and toured with many other well known acts and rock bands, but have been on indefinite hiatus since 2012 except for a brief revival in 2024. Their 1998 alternative top five hit " Got You (Where I Want You)", was produced by Chris Goss, and the video featured actors Katie Holmes and James Marsden. The Fixx are a rock band from London, England, founded in 1979. Alpha Rev is an American alternative rock band from Austin, Texas, fronted by Casey McPherson (formerly of Endochine). McPherson remains the group's only consistent member. However, historically the core members have also included Zak Loy on lead guitar, Brian Batch on violin and backing vocals, and Dave Wiley on cello. Sarah Jaffe is an American singer-songwriter from Denton, Texas. Known for her distinctively clear vocals, she has worked as a singer-songwriter across many musical genres, including acoustic-folk, indie pop and hip hop. Early life Jaffe was born in Lufkin in Angelina County, Texas. She has a sister. After a period during Jaffe's childhood when her family moved around Texas frequently, the family settled in Red Oak, Texas, outside of Dallas, where she grew up. Toadies
Toadies are an American rock band formed in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas, best known for the song " Possum Kingdom". The band's classic lineup consisted of Vaden Todd Lewis (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lisa Umbarger (bass guitar), Darrel Herbert (lead guitar), and Mark Reznicek (drums).
