Toadies
Toadies are an American rock band formed in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas, best known for the song " Possum Kingdom". The band's classic lineup consisted of Vaden Todd Lewis (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lisa Umbarger (bass guitar), Darrel Herbert (lead guitar), and Mark Reznicek (drums). The band released two studio albums before disbanding in 2001 after Umbarger left the group. The band reformed in 2006 and released the album '' No Deliverance'' two years later In 2010, they re-released the album '' Feeler'' with Kirtland Records (the album's original release was denied by Interscope in 1997). Vaden Todd Lewis
Vaden "Danger" Todd Lewis (born September 3, 1965) is an American musician best known as the vocalist and guitarist for Toadies, an alternative rock band from Fort Worth, Texas. Lewis was also the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Dallas-based Burden Brothers. In July 2017, Lewis opened The Loop Artist Rehearsal Studios in Fort Worth. Early life Vaden Todd Lewis was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1965. At an early age, his parents introduced him to bluegrass and "old school country," which together with locally popular Texas band ZZ Top became his initial musical influences. Around age 15, Lewis began seeking out different non-commercial sounds, which introduced him to Talking Heads and Pixies. Working in a record store in Fort Worth in the late 1980s, Lewis met Lisa Umbarger, who shared Lewis's musical interests. No Deliverance
''No Deliverance'' is the third studio album by American rock band Toadies, released in 2008 on Kirtland Records. It is the band's first album in seven years after '' Hell Below/Stars Above'' and the first since they reuinted in 2006. It is also the band's only album without an official bass player, with bass duties being handled by Vaden Todd Lewis. The album was promoted by two singles, "No Deliverance" and "Song I Hate", the former which reached number 38 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Release and reception "No Deliverance" was made available for streaming on ''Spins website. The album was released on CD, vinyl and for digital download. While all versions contained ten tracks, the iTunes release included a bonus eleventh track, a cover of The Cure's "A Forest". Those who pre-ordered through Newbury Comics received an autographed CD booklet, while those who pre-ordered it through f.y.e. received an autographed poster. Feeler (Toadies Album)
''Feeler'' was supposed have been the Toadies's follow-up album to the critically acclaimed debut '' Rubberneck''; however, it was rejected by Interscope Records. In June 2010, the band announced they had re-entered the studio to "rediscover" and re-record the album. This nine-song version was released on August 10, 2010. 1998 recordings In 1997, the band decided to end their '' Rubberneck'' tour and began work on their follow-up album. In the beginning of 1998, the band entered Arlyn Studios and Pedernales Studio with producer Paul Leary. They recorded 15 songs in consideration for the album, initially planning for a fall 1998 release. By August, due to 'scheduling problems', the album, which now had the tentative title ''Feeler'', was still not mixed or mastered, although there was still hope that it would be released in early 1999. Rubberneck (album)
''Rubberneck'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Toadies. It was released in August 1994 on Interscope Records and attained RIAA gold and platinum status in December 1995 and December 1996 respectively. The album produced the band's most popular single, " Possum Kingdom". In 2014, in honor of the album's 20th anniversary, Kirtland Records re-released the album on CD and vinyl on April 1. The album was remastered and also includes five bonus tracks. Three of the bonus tracks are previously unreleased songs from the original album's sessions, including "Run in with Dad" and a cover of Pylon's "Stop It", both of which were previously recorded for ''Velvet'', and "Rockfish", an early version of "Waterfall", a song later recorded for '' Feeler'', the intended follow-up to ''Rubberneck''. "Possum Kingdom" is a song by American rock band Toadies, released in 1994 as the second single from their debut album '' Rubberneck''. The song's origins lie in folklore from the band's native state of Texas. Possum Kingdom Lake is a lake in North Texas near Fort Worth. In the documentary "Dark Secrets: The Stories of Rubberneck", vocalist Vaden Todd Lewis further elaborates that he intended "Possum Kingdom" to be a continuation of the story told in the song "I Burn". Michael Jerome Moore, known as Michael Jerome is an American rock musician and drummer. He is a former member of Pop Poppins (1989-1997), the Toadies (1990–91), Course of Empire (1994–1998), and James Hall's band Pleasure Club, which was formed in 2002. He was a member of the Saginaw, Texas band Pop Poppins, a metroplex cult follow. He played on Charlie Musselwhite's 2004 release ''Sanctuary'', and has also toured or recorded with Blind Boys of Alabama, John Cale, Anna Egge, Tom Freund and many others. Jerome is double-jointed and ambidextrous. Jerome joined the Louisiana-based band Better Than Ezra in 2009, following the departure of the band's drummer of 13 years, Travis McNabb, who had amicably left Better Than Ezra in February 2009 in order to tour full-time with Sugarland. Hagfish (band)
Hagfish were an American rock band originated in Sherman, Texas that rose to notoriety via performances in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas, Texas, drawing influences from both punk rock and alternative rock. The lineup included lead vocalist George Stroud Reagan III, guitarist Zach Blair, bassist Doni Blair and drummer Tony Barsotti for the majority of the band's career, including nearly all of their recorded work.
