Kinship Season 1 (Simplified Chinese: 手足第一部, 手足) is a Singaporean Chinese long-running drama that was televised on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp TV Channel 8 every Monday to Friday at 19:00 tonight. The drama was the first of two parts, making its debut on 19 June 2007. This drama series consists of a cast which aims to appeal to both younger and older audience. As such, the producers have cited this drama as a highly anticipated drama, comparable to the likes of '' Holland V'', '' Double Happiness'' and ''Portrait of Home''. This drama is one of the longest running dramas (with 43 episodes) being produced by MediaCorp in 2007. Elvin Ng
Elvin Ng Choon Siong (; born 23 December 1980) is a Singaporean actor and former model. Early life Ng attended Jurong Primary School, Catholic High School and National Junior College. He graduated with an honours degree in English literature from the National University of Singapore. Career Ng was discovered through a talent search programme ''School Belle and the Beau'' hosted by MediaCorp DJ and Host, Dennis Chew and Belinda Lee, during his university days. They were filming the variety show at National University of Singapore where Ng studies at and his performance and looks caught the attention of the producers at MediaCorp. Ng was then given a supporting role in the 2005 series '' A Life of Hope'' where he acted alongside Joanne Peh, and after the airing of the series, MediaCorp offered Ng a contract with them. This drama is the longest running drama (with 40 episodes) being produced by MediaCorp in 2007. Star Awards For Best Theme Song
The Star Awards for Best Theme Song is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. The category was introduced in 1997, at the 4th Star Awards ceremony; Sebastian Tan received the award for his theme song, 《和平的代价》 in ''The Price of Peace'' and it is given in honour of a theme song in a Mediacorp drama serial which has delivered an outstanding overall performance. The nominees are determined by a team of judges employed by Mediacorp. Prior to 2014, winners are selected by a majority vote from the entire judging panel. This rule was amended from 2014 onwards such that winners are selected by a majority vote from both the entire judging panel and the public via online voting. Star Awards 2007 () was a television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. It was the first ''Star Awards'' ceremony to be broadcast in two weeks putting emphasis on two programmes; the first ceremony, broadcast on 9 December 2007, titled 红星大奖之戏剧情牵25 (lit. ''Star Awards 25th Drama Anniversary''), commentating 25 years of drama in the Television in Singapore (the ceremony would later become a legacy of having a separate presentation of Professional and Technical awards, which would not happen until ''Star Awards 2010''). Eelyn Kok
Eelyn Kok Hui Wen () is a Singaporean actress. She was prominently a full-time MediaCorp artist from 2001 to 2013, but continues to film on an ad hoc basis. Career Kok was first spotted in SPH MediaWorks's talent show ''Route to Glamour'' in 2001 and was a contestant alongside Jeanette Aw and Adam Chen. Although she did not win, she was offered a contract with MediaWorks and later joined MediaCorp in 2005 when the two companies merged. Brandon Wong (; born 16 September 1971) is a Malaysian born Singaporean actor. He was born in Malaysia. He is able to speak Mandarin, English, Malay, Cantonese. Double Happiness (TV Series)
Double Happiness () is a Chinese drama serial on MediaCorp Channel 8 in Singapore which was screened in 2004 and ended in Jan 2005. It stars Ivy Lee , Xie Shaoguang , Edmund Chen , Vivian Lai & Zhang Wei as the casts of this series. It consists two parts, with 70 episodes in this part of the show. It is about a family who sells fish and chips in a renowned restaurant in East Coast Road called Happy Fish. The restaurant has its ups and downs, but eventually it will come out strong, but not without tragedies and lessons learnt. In 2007 MediaCorp sold its rights to Chinese broadcaster CCTV8 and it was broadcast in China in 5 parts. It also had a rerun on Channel 8 in August 2012 to March 2013 for both seasons.
