Kinokuniya Bunzaemon-hi
Kinokuniya (紀ノ国屋) a high-end Japanese supermarket chain headquartered in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo. Kinokuniya Co., Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of East Japan Railway Company on April 1, 2010. There is no relationship with retailer and publisher Kinokuniya Books, which too has its head office in Tokyo. Etymology The "country" kanji is written in the old character 國 in the company name, and the store name is written with the new character 国. History Kinokuniya was founded in 1910 (Meiji 43) as a high-end fruit store in Tokyo. Masui Norio, who helped out in the family business, closed the Aoyama fruit store after the material control orders during the Pacific War meant that he could no longer sell high-end fruit, and rebuilt it as a fruit and vegetable store after the war in 1949. is a Japanese bookstore chain operated by , founded in 1927, with its first store located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Its name translates to "Bookstore of Kii Province". The company has its headquarters in Meguro, Tokyo. One of the company's goals has been to cater to the interests of not only local Japanese clients, but to a wider, more diverse clientele. Shinjitai
are the simplified forms of kanji used in Japan since the promulgation of the Tōyō Kanji List in 1946. Some of the new forms found in ''shinjitai'' are also found in simplified Chinese characters, but ''shinjitai'' is generally not as extensive in the scope of its modification. Ao Building is a commercial building located in Kita-Aoyama 3-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo. AO Building was designed by Nihon Sekkei, which also designed Ghibli Museum and Toranomon Hills.
