Kindred (song)
"Kindred" is a song by American rock band A Perfect Circle. It was released on March 29, 2024, and was the band's first new music in six years, following 2018's ''Eat the Elephant''. Background Following the completion of the band's fourth studio album, ''Eat the Elephant'', and subsequent touring cycle in 2018, A Perfect Circle went inactive while members moved onto their respective musical projects. Frontman Maynard James Keenan resumed work with Puscifer, while guitarist Billy Howerdel put out a solo album, ''What Normal Was'' (2022). In 2023, a brief tour in celebration of Keenan's 60th birthday was announced. Scheduled to run across April and May 2024, it would feature performances from three bands: A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus. In the month leading up to the tour's start, it was announced that a joint EP would be released just before the tour, featuring one song from each band. A Perfect Circle
A Perfect Circle is an American Rock music, rock Supergroup (music), supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool (band), Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. A Perfect Circle released three of their four studio albums in the early 2000s: their debut ''Mer de Noms'' in 2000, a follow-up, ''Thirteenth Step'' in 2003; and an album of radically re-worked cover songs, ''Emotive (album), Emotive'', in 2004. Shortly after ''Emotive''s release, the band went on hiatus; Keenan returned to Tool and started up solo work under the band name Puscifer, while Howerdel released a solo album, ''Keep Telling Myself It's Alright'', under the moniker Ashes Divide. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Evolution of the Hindu-Arabic digit Brahmic numerals represented 1, 2, and 3 with as many lines. 4 was simplified by joining its four lines into a cross that looks like the modern plus sign. A riff is a short, repeated motif or figure in the melody or accompaniment of a musical composition. Riffs are most often found in rock music, punk, heavy metal music, Latin, funk, and jazz, although classical music is also sometimes based on a riff, as in Ravel's Boléro. The Foo Fighters are an American Rock music, rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Joshua Ryan Freese (born December 25, 1972) is an American drummer. A member of punk rock band the Vandals since 1989, Freese has also been a member of new wave band Devo since 1996. He was previously a member of hard rock band Guns N' Roses from 1997 to 1999, of rock band Foo Fighters from 2023 to 2025 and a member of alternative rock band A Perfect Circle from 1999 to 2012, the latter of which he rejoined in 2024. Primus ( ) is an American rock music, rock band formed in El Sobrante, Contra Costa County, California, El Sobrante, California in 1984. As of March 2025, the band is composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde, Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer John Hoffman.
