GAA Killarney are a former Football and Hurling Divisional Team in County Kerry, Ireland and composed of players from the Dr Crokes and Legion clubs. They have won 2 Kerry Senior Football Championships in 1949 and 1983 and 1 Kerry Senior Hurling Championship in 1969 and were beaten in the final in 1951. Hurling (, ') is an outdoor Team sport, team game of ancient Gaelic culture, Gaelic Irish origin, played by men and women. Dr Crokes is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. Notable players include Colm Cooper, Eoin Brosnan, Johnny Buckley and Tony Brosnan. Founded in 1886, the club's successes include the capture of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1992 and 2017. The club has won the Munster Club Championship on eight occasions - 1991, 1992, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018. Killarney Legion
Killarney Legion are a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Killarney in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club was founded on a March evening in 1929 when a group of eleven men held a meeting in the then Temperance movement, Temperance Hall in High Street, Killarney. History In the Kerry Senior Football Championship, Legion reached the 3rd round by beating John Mitchels of Tralee 0-16 to 1-6, then losing to rivals Dr. Crokes 1-16 to 0-9. Legion now have a new state of the art clubhouse and have just commenced the development of a stand aligning the southern side of the main pitch. The stature of the juvenile section of the club is at an all-time high at present. Legion's U14 team represented Kerry in the Feile competition of 2006 held in Wicklow and again in 2009 held in Kildare. The East Kerry Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association caters for 13 Gaelic football clubs and 1 hurling club in the East Kerry division of the GAA county of Kerry.
