Muhammad Khasru
Muhammad Khasru (1946 – 19 February 2019) was a Bangladeshi journalist and activist who pioneered the film society movement in the country. He played an important role in establishing the Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh in 1973 and Bangladesh Film Archive in 1978. Early life Khasru was born in 1946 at Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. His father worked at the Hooghly Jute Mill. But after the communal riots broke out in India, his family migrated to Dhaka in the 1950s. They settled in their ancestral home at Mohonpur village in Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka district. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury (born 10 November 1949) is a standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and former minister of commerce. He hails from a political family in Chittagong and headed the city's BNP unit momentarily to organize the party. Early life and education Chowdhury was born on 10 November 1949 to a Bengalis, Bengali family of Muslim Chowdhury, Chowdhuries in the Nazir Bari of North Kattali, Pahartali Thana, Pahartali in the Chittagong District of East Bengal, Pakistan (now Bangladesh). His father, Mahmudunnabi Chowdhury, was a minister during the East Pakistan period and a member of the East Pakistan Legislative Assembly. Abdul Matin Khasru (12 February 1950 – 14 April 2021) was a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician. He was a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Comilla-5 constituency during 1991–1995, 1996–2001 and 2009–2021. He served in the first Hasina cabinet as Minister of Law and Justice from 1997 until 2001. Personal life Khasru completed his SSC from Madhabpur High School in 1967. He got admitted to Comilla Victoria Government College and completed graduation under the University of Chittagong in 1970.Later, he admitted law in Comilla Law College and completed LL.B under the same university.
