Khadzhimurad Gadzhiyev
Khadzhimurad Gadzhiyev (born 12 October 2000) is an Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's 74 kg event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. In March 2021, he qualified at the European Qualification Tournament to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. In June 2021, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's 74 kg event at the 2021 Waclaw Ziolkowski Memorial held in Warsaw, Poland. He was not able to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics due to injury and, instead, Turan Bayramov represented Azerbaijan in the men's 74 kg event. 2022 U23 World Wrestling Championships – Men's Freestyle 74 Kg
The men's freestyle 74 kg is a competition featured at the 2022 U23 World Wrestling Championships, and was held in Pontevedra, Spain on 22 and 23 October 2022. The qualification rounds were held on 22 October while medal matches were held on the 2nd day of the competition. A total of 26 wrestlers competed in this event, limited to athletes whose body weight was less than 74 kilograms. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Turan Bayramov
Turan Bayramov (born 11 January 2001) is an Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler who competes at 70 kilograms, and 74 kilograms. Bayramov claimed a silver medal from the 2021 European Championships (70kg), was the 2019 U23 World Champion and the 2018 Cadet World and Youth Olympic Champion, as well as a medalist at multiple high level age-group competitions. Wrestling career Age-group level As a cadet, Bayramov placed third and second at the 2017 European and World Championships respectively. The following year, he was able to claim both championships and also became the Youth Olympic Champion. The 2021 European Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament is the second regional qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The event was held from 18 to 21 March 2021, in BOK Sports Hall, Budapest, Hungary. Qualification summary A total of 36 athletes secured a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Japan. Two spots were given to each of the weight classes in every event. This allows a total of 12 available spots for each event. European Cadets Wrestling Championships
The European Wrestling Championships is the second oldest international wrestling competition of the modern world and the main wrestling championships in Europe. It predates World Wrestling Championships and other regional wrestling championships and is second only to the wrestling events at the Olympics. From its inception in 1898 till 1927 only Greco-Roman wrestling was contested. Since 1929 separate freestyle wrestling events were held as well. Since 1970 the two Olympic wrestling styles were contested together during the same unified events. Since 1973 Sambo wrestling was included into the championships programme along with GR and freestyle wrestling (subsequently discontinued and from 1983 contested separately).
