Keshla
Keşlə (; Кешлә, کشله; also Keshly, Keshlya, Kəşlə, Keşlä, Kešlæ, Kishly, Kishlya, Kishty, Kişli and Kitly) is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 25,626. The Keshla area is becoming main business district of Baku, Azerbaijan. In the North, it is surrounded by several skyscrapers which are located at H. Aliyev Avenue. However in the South it is neighboring with Baku White City and Babek Business Avenue. History The name Keshla is first mentioned in sources in the 17th century. The former name was Keshlaqishlag. Oykonim reflects the name of the Keshli / Keshla tribe of Turkic origin. The document of the 18th century provides information about the right of Keshli and Karamanli tribes to use Gazakhli, Alasli and Borchali pastures. Baku Suburban Railway
The Baku suburban railway () or Absheron Circular line () is a commuter rail service which began in 2019, serving the Azerbaijani capital Baku. Background In 2016, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov confirmed that work was underway on a railway line to Heydar Aliyev International Airport from Baku's Baku railway station, main station. In 2018, president Ilham Aliyev announced funding for a suburban rail service for Baku. The 100 million Azerbaijani manat, manat project was to include upgrading the existing railway between Baku and Sumqayıt via Biləcəri, as well as bring back into use the disused route connecting the two cities via Sabunçu and Pirşağı. Shah Abbas Mosque (Keshla)
The Shah Abbas Mosque () is a mosque in the Keshla settlement of the Nizami district of Baku, Azerbaijan. The mosque of Keshla village is a monument of the 17th century and was built by the order of the Safavid Persian king Shah Abbas. Architectural features According to the plan, the Shah Abbas Mosque in Keshla has a square shape. It repeats the scheme typical for the mosques of the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school, and is similar to the Tuba Shakhi mosque in the Mardakan settlement (1481). In the center of the edifice, the main worship hall is built, consisting of four large arches which are connected to the round dome of the mosque. Small rooms with arched ceilings are built on the sides of the building. These rooms are the ones that give the plan a square shape. Villa Petrolea
Villa Petrolea is a historical district located in the Keshla municipality of Baku, Azerbaijan. Built by the Petroleum Production Company Nobel Brothers (also known as Branobel) in 1882, it served to accommodate workers of the company. It currently functions as a museum of the Nobel brothers, in addition to housing a number of offices and businesses. History By the end of the nineteenth century, eastern parts of Baku (then the main oil extraction centre of the Russian Empire) constituted an industrial region unsuitable for civil residence due to heavy pollution. The only structures were oil refineries, port buildings and temporary housing for oil workers. In order to get the administrative and technical personnel of Branobel (including specialists from Sweden, Norway and Germany) to settle in this area, a settlement providing favourable living conditions was built here. ASK Arena
ASK Arena (), formerly Inter Arena and Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku . The stadium was built on the site of Termist stadium in 2001 and has a capacity of 8,125 spectators. The stadium surrounded by practice fields, administration buildings and four-star hotel. Ulduz (Baku Metro)
Ulduz is a subway station of Baku Metro that was opened on 17 April 1970. The length of the Red line of the Baku metro increased by 1.5 km with the commissioning of the "Ulduz" station. SOCAR Tower is a skyscraper in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is the 2nd tallest building in Baku and in Azerbaijan.
