Kerala Congress (B)
Kerala Congress (B) bbr. KC(B)is a registered political party in Kerala, formed by R. Balakrishna Pillai, a former minister of the government of Kerala. At present, the party has one MLA in the state Legislative Assembly, namely K. B. Ganesh Kumar, a well-known film actor and son of R. Balakrishna Pillai, who has been representing the Pathanapuram constituency in Kollam District since 2001. The KC(B) is the part of LDF. History The party was formed in 1977, following the split in Kerala Congress that occurred after the death of K. M. George due to differences that arose between K. M. Mani and R. Balakrishna Pillai. The party was a constituent of LDF on formation. Later it moved to UDF and became a part of the Third Karunakaran ministry. The party chief R. Balakrishna Pillai was the minister of Transport in that ministry. During this period Pillai's home turf Kottarakkara got developed as a major KSRTC hub of the state. 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held in Kerala on 6 April 2021 to elect 140 Member of the Legislative Assembly (India), members to the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The results were declared on 2 May. The election saw the incumbent Left Democratic Front (Kerala), Left Democratic Front (LDF) retaining power with 99 seats, 8 more than in the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, previous election, marking the first time that an alliance won consecutive terms in the state since its 1977 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, 1977 election. Bheeman Raghu
Reghu Damodharan known by his stage name Bheeman Reghu is an Indian actor and retired police officer. Before transitioning to a full-time career in cinema, he served as a sub-inspector in the Kerala Police. Keezhoote Balakrishna Ganesh Kumar (born 25 May 1966) is an Indian actor, television host, and politician who is serving as the Minister for Transport of Kerala since December 2023 and previously from 2001 to 2003. 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held on 16 May 2016 to elect 140 MLA (India), MLAs to the 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. Voter turnout was 77.53%, up from 75.12% in the previous election. The result was declared on 19 May 2016. The Left Democratic Front (Kerala), Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), won the election, defeating the incumbent United Democratic Front (Kerala), United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Indian National Congress, Indian National Congress (INC), which could only win 47 seats in the election.
