Keith Williams (Australian Footballer)
Keith Williams (27 May 1926 – 19 October 2004) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Williams originally played for the Rutherglen Football Club in the Murray Valley Patriotic Football League in 1944 and then played for the Border United Football Club and tied for the club Best & Fairest award in 1945. Williams continued to play for the Border United FC when they entered the Ovens & Murray Football League (O&MFL) in 1946. Williams was signed by Fitzroy in 1947, the year he won the Ovens & Murray Football League (O&MFL) Morris Medal with the Border United Football Club (Corowa). He joined Fitzroy in 1948 and the follower was a regular member of the team that year, playing 18 consecutive games, missing only the final round. Corowa Football Club
The Corowa Football Club, nicknamed the Spiders, was an Australian rules football club based in Corowa, New South Wales, that competed in the Ovens & Murray Football League. The club merged with the Wahgunyah Football Club on several occasions during its early history and as a result was also known as the Border United Football Club from time to time between 1877 and 1947. Then in 1979, both Corowa Football Club and Rutherglen Football Club merged to form Corowa Rutherglen Football Club and have played in the Ovens and Murray Football League ever since. Corowa Football Club Players
Corowa is a town in the state of New South Wales in Australia. It is on the bank of the Murray River, the border between New South Wales and Victoria, opposite the Victorian town of Wahgunyah. It is the largest town in the Federation Council and was the administrative centre of the former Corowa Shire. The name could have derived from a Wiradjuri word referring to the curra pine that yielded gum used by Aboriginal people to fasten the heads of spears to the shafts. The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). John Longmire
John Longmire (born 31 December 1970) is the former senior coach of the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 2011 to 2024. As a player, he represented the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1988 to 1999. Early years Longmire was born in Corowa, New South Wales.
