Kehoe Cup
The Kehoe Cup ( ; ) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster GAA, Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA) since 1977 for second- and third-tier inter county, inter-county teams in the province of Leinster in Ireland. Nowadays, teams from the provinces of Ulster and Connacht are eligible to compete; formerly, teams from higher education, third-level institutions within the three provinces also did. The competition runs each January. Formerly sponsored by Bord na Móna, it was formerly known as the "Bord na Móna Kehoe Cup" and is now the "Dioralyte Kehoe Cup" since Dioralyte took over as main sponsor in 2024. The Kehoe Cup is part of a series of GAA tournaments known as the Leinster GAA Series, along with the Walsh Cup (hurling), Walsh Cup and the O'Byrne Cup. 2024 Kehoe Cup
The 2024 Kehoe Cup was an inter-county hurling competition in the province of Leinster, played by four GAA county teams, county teams: three from Leinster and one () from Ulster. It was the second level of Leinster/Ulster hurling pre-season competitions, below the 2024 Walsh Cup. were the winners, after winning their three games. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into five divisions, with seven teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. 2009 Kehoe Cup
The 2009 Kehoe Cup was an inter-county and colleges hurling competition in the province of Leinster. The competition is ranked below the Walsh Cup and features second and third tier counties from Leinster, Ulster, Connacht and selected university teams. The winners were Westmeath who defeated Carlow 0–16 to 0–09 in the final. 2019 Kehoe Cup
The 2019 Kehoe Cup was an inter-county hurling competition based mainly in the province of Leinster in which Antrim from Ulster also took part. The Kehoe Cup is ranked below the Walsh Cup (tier 1). Five county teams competed – , , , and . It took place in December 2018 and January 2019. Westmeath were the winners. The Kehoe Shield was revived in 2019. Extra Time
Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. Enniscorthy () is the second-largest town in County Wexford, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Michael Kehoe (GAA President)
Michael Kehoe (22 June 1899 – 8 January 1977) was the 16th president of the Gaelic Athletic Association (1949–1952). Born in Wexford, Kehoe took part in the Easter Rising there. Active in the Irish language movement, Kehoe was co-founder of Coláiste Charman, which taught Irish from the 1930s to the 1970s. Kehoe was involved in Leinster Council for over 50 years, and was chairman from 1942 to 1944.
