Karma (2008 Indonesian Film)
''KARMA'' is a 2008 Indonesian movie based on true events. The film was directed by Allan Lunardi, written by Salman Aristo, and stars Joe Taslim, Dominique Diyose, Jonathan Mulia, HIM Damsyik, and Jenny Chang. This film was released on July 24, 2008. The plot follows Sandra, a young woman who marries into a family haunted by ghosts. Plot No females remain in Guan's (Him Damsyik) family. Philip (Hengky Solaiman) is the only child of Guan. From Philip's two marriages, he has children named Martin (Verdi Solaiman) and Arman (Joe Taslim). Arman decides to leave the house to study in Australia. Salman Aristo
Salman Aristo (born 1976) is an Indonesian screenwriter and film director best known for his work on '' Ayat-Ayat Cinta'', ''Laskar Pelangi'', '' Garuda di Dadaku'', and '' Sang Penari''. Born in Jakarta, Aristo became interested in films from a young age, though he did not consider a career in the industry until after graduating from university. At the suggestion of a friend, he wrote his first screenplay, ''Tak Pernah Kembali Sama''. With feedback on the script from director Rudy Soedjarwo and after a period reading old, successful scripts, Aristo – at the time a film reviewer for a magazine – was able to befriend Hanung Bramantyo, who asked him to write a script about brownies. Joe Taslim
Johannes Taslim (born 23 June 1981) is an Indonesian actor and martial artist. He was a member of Indonesia's judo national team from 1997 to 2009. He is known for his roles as Sergeant Jaka in ''The Raid'' (2011), Jah in ''Fast & Furious 6'' (2013), Star Trek Beyond (2016), as Li Yong in ''Warrior'' and as Sub-Zero in '' Mortal Kombat'' (2021). Him Damsyik
Hajji Incik Muhammad Damsyik (14 March 1929 – 3 February 2012), better known as HIM Damsyik or Datuk Maringgih was an Indonesian dancer and actor. Biography Damsyik was born in Teluk Betung, Lampung, Dutch East Indies on 14 March 1929. His father was the director of employees of the Koninklijke Paketvaart-Maatschappij, a shipping company. In the 1950s, he moved to Jakarta to further his education; at the same time he learning and competing in Ballroom Dance. After winning a competition, he spent four years studying at the Rellum Dancing School in the Netherlands. Upon returning to Indonesia, Damsyik began giving private dance lessons. In 1959 he was approached by Wim Umboh to do the choreography for ''Bertamasaya'' (''Picnic''); Damsyik ended up acting in the film as well.
