Karl Amon
Karl Amon (born 19 August 1995) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Port Adelaide Football Club from 2014 to 2022. Early life Amon was born and raised in Melbourne to mother Katrina, an Aboriginal Australian , Aboriginal woman from Stradbroke Island in Queensland. At the age of five, Amon was diagnosed with Legg–Calvé–Perthes_disease, Perthes disease, undergoing several operations, including five on his hip. Between the ages of 5 and 8, he was regularly in hospital and spent a year in a wheelchair followed by a year on crutches. Karl Amon played his junior football at the East Sandringham Zebras and later Hampton Rovers Football Club and also played one senior VAFA game at the football club he was participating in at that time. Flying Boomerangs
The Flying Boomerangs are the underage Indigenous Australian Australian rules football team for men (the underage women's team is known as the ''Woomeras'' and the senior team is the Indigenous All-Stars). From 2008 to 2017 the team toured overseas playing tests against junior teams from Papua New Guinea, South Africa, New Zealand and developing pacific nations. The team was hosted by the AFL NT and based in Darwin, Northern Territory. In 2018 the AFL Commission restructured it to become part of the AFL's diversity program and it now participate in an annual match in Melbourne against a World Team consisting of underage players with a parent born outside Australia. 2022 AFL Draft
The 2022 AFL draft consisted of the various periods where the 18 clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) could trade and recruit players during and following the completion of the 2022 AFL season. 2022 Covid top-up players Due to the League wanting to ensure that matches are not cancelled or postponed during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, each club named twenty players to their Covid top-up player list.
