Kansbahal
Kansbahal is a modern industrial town situated in the state of Odisha India. It lies on the List of National Highways in India#Odisha, State Highway #10 about 25 km from Rourkela main city; and on the main railway route between Howrah (Kolkata) and CST/Kurla (Mumbai). Kansbahal comes under the jurisdiction of Rourkela Municipal Corporation. History Kansbahal remained a rather unknown tribal village and forested area in the Sundargarh district of Odisha until its emergence into prominence with the establishment of "Utkal Machinery Limited" (UTMAL), a heavy engineering company, mainly serving the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Utkal Machinery Limited soon evolved into Larsen and Toubro's Heavy Engineering Works. Rourkela () is a planned city located in the northern district Sundargarh of Odisha, India. It is the third-largest Urban Agglomeration in Odisha after Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Mandira Dam
Mandira Dam is located near Kansbahal in Sundergarh district, Odisha, India. It is built across Sankh river, near Kansbahal, located 16 km upstream from Mandira. The water from the dam is used for running the Rourkela Steel Plant Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), is a public sector, integrated steel plant in Rourkela, Odisha state, India. It was established on 3 February 1959 with the help of West German industrial corporations on approximately 19,000 acres of land acquired .... Construction of the dam began after 1957. The dam displaced 2400 families and only 843 were resettled. Mandiakudar
Mandikudar is a small village situated near the outskirts of steel township Rourkela. Its jurisdiction is entitled to town of Kansbahal. Mandiakudar got its name from a staple crop named "Mandia" which was cultivated by poor people in that area. The village is about one kilometer away from Kansbahal situated in between State Highways SH 24 and SH 10. Mandiakudar gained popularity because of the proximity of engineering colleges residing in the area. Most popularly the Degree and Diploma college of Purushottam Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) situated there. The nearest community hospital is at village of Beldihi. There is a small post office run by Indian postal department in the campus of PIET, which offers service of Speed Post, Post Box, Postal Savings Bank and ATM. Purushottam Institute Of Engineering And Technology
Purushottam Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) is a private co-aid undergraduate engineering college located in semi rural part of Mandiakudar of semi urban town Kansbahal. The institute was established in 1999. Rourkela Steel Plant
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), is a public sector, integrated steel plant in Rourkela, Odisha state, India. It was established on 3 February 1959 with the help of West German industrial corporations on approximately 19,000 acres of land acquired from tribal inhabitants. The plant is operated by the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Central PSU. After the 2010-12 expansion, RSP currently has a production capacity of 4.5 MTPA (Million Tonne per Annum) of Hot Metal, 4.2 MTPA of Crude Steel and 3.9 MTPA of Saleable Steel, employs 19,134 employees as of February 2011 and produces a mix of products. Tatanagar–Bilaspur Section
The Tatanagar–Bilaspur section is part of the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line and connects in the Indian state of Jharkhand and in Chhattisgarh. Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) is a public state university located in Rourkela, Odisha, India. It was established on 21 November 2002 and named after Biju Patnaik, a former Chief Minister of Odisha. History It came into being on 21 November 2002 through the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) Act of Government of Odisha. Its foundation stone was laid in 2003 by Dr. A.P.J.
