Kamp (river)
The Kamp () is a river in northern Austria, left tributary of the Danube. Its drainage basin is . The source of the Kamp is on the border of Lower Austria and Upper Austria, near the town Liebenau, in the Mühlviertel. It flows generally east through Rappottenstein (where it receives its tributary ), Zwettl, Krumau am Kamp, Gars am Kamp and Langenlois. Most of the southern part of the valley belongs to the Kamptal vine region. Kamp (Bad Doberan)
The Kamp () is a triangular, lime-fringed park, about two hectares in area, which was laid out in 1800 in the centre of the small German town of Bad Doberan. In the 19th century, the Kamp was the social hub of the Doberan, because it was surrounded by the most prestigious buildings in the town. History In 1793, following the foundation of Germany's first seaside resort in Heiligendamm, the Duke of Mecklenburg, Frederick Francis I, pressed ahead with the development of Doberan (the name was changed to Bad Doberan in the 1920s) as his ducal summer residence. As well as being the residence of the Duke and his court, Doberan also became the meeting place for the social elite of the state. Kamp Mound Site
The Kamp Mound Site is a prehistoric mound and village site located along the Illinois River and Illinois Route 100 north of Kampsville, Illinois. The Hopewellian site includes seven mounds dating from 100 B.C. - 450 A.D. and a village site dating from 450 to 700 A.D. The Havana Hopewell culture used the complex as a ceremonial and burial site. Archaeologists have also proposed that the site served as a regional trade center for the Hopewellian exchange system. The seven mounds at the site, which were originally part of a group of ten, include some of Illinois' largest mounds. In addition, large amounts of shell and animal bone fragments have been recovered from the site. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 24, 1978. Hotel Kämp
Hotel Kämp () is a historic hotel in Kluuvi, Helsinki, Finland. It is a member of Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel, originally built in 1887 by Carl Kämp, was designed by Theodor Höijer. The building was demolished and the facade was rebuilt in 1965. The headquarters of the bank Kansallis-Osake-Pankki (now part of Nordea) were situated in the building for almost three decades, until 1995. A major restoration project, started in 1996, culminated in the reopening of Hotel Kämp in 1999 as part of The Luxury Collection. A shopping centre, , was also opened within the same city block. Another major renovation will begin in Q4 2023, to be finished by the end of 2025; the hotel will remain operational throughout this period. Kamp Store
The Kamp Store is a historic general store building located at the northeast corner of Oak and Broadway in Kampsville, Illinois, United States. Joseph Kamp, the son of the founder of Kampsville, opened the store in 1902. The two-story wood-frame building features a false front with decorative metalwork. The store provided Kampsville residents with a wide variety of goods, ranging from small household items to automobiles and heavy farming equipment. St. Louis-based suppliers shipped the store its goods via Mississippi River barges. Kamp operated the store until his death in 1952; the store served as a grocery store until the 1970s and later became a carpet store. The Center for American Archeology purchased the building in 1991 and now uses it as its Visitor Center and Museum.
