Kaluta Amri Abeid (Kaluta Amri Abedi, Sheikh Amri Abeid Kaluta, Sheikh Kaluta, 1924–1964) was a Tanzanian Muslim cleric (Sheikh), civil servant, politician and poet. Biography Kaluta Amri Abeid was the second Minister of Justice of Tanganyika and Minister of Development and Culture under President Julius Nyerere in 1963-1964, and the first African mayor of Dar es Salaam. He also was a seminal Swahili poet and translator. Abeid was a prominent member of the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) and led the national delegation to the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. Abeid was on the presidential commission to advise over turning Tanzania into a one-party state. However, he died in 1964 before the commission delivered its final report. Kigoma-Ujiji District
Kigoma-Ujiji District is one of the eight administrative districts of Kigoma Region in Tanzania. The District covers an area of . It is bordered to the west by Uvinza District in the south east and to the north by Kigoma District. The western shore of lake Tanganyika surrounds the district on the west. Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium
Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kaloleni, Tanzania, Kaloleni ward of Arusha in Arusha Region of Tanzania. It is named after the Tanzanian cleric, politician and poet Kaluta Amri Abeid and is currently used mostly for association football, football matches and serves as the home venue for Arusha FC. The stadium was the host of the 2011 Kilimanjaro Bowl, the first American football game played on the continent of Africa. It holds 20,000 people. References

Translation is the communication of the meaning of a source-language text by means of an equivalent target-language text. The English language draws a terminological distinction (which does not exist in every language) between ''translating'' (a written text) and ''interpreting'' (oral or signed communication between users of different languages); under this distinction, translation can begin only after the appearance of writing within a language community.
