Kaarel Kurismaa
Kaarel Kurismaa (born 13 May 1939 in Pärnu, Estonia) is the first and one of the most important sound art and sound installation artists in Estonia. His work also expands into the field of painting, animation, public space monumental art, stage installations. In Estonian art history, Kurismaa’s significance lies mostly in the pioneering work with kinetic art and with keeping its traditions alive. Kurismaa stands as one of Estonian sound art scene’s central icons. His idiosyncratic work serves as a foundation for Estonian sound and kinetic art. Kaarel Eenpalu (until 1935 Karl August Einbund) (, in Paju talu, Vesneri Parish (now Tartu Parish), Kreis Dorpat, Governorate of Livonia, Russian Empire – 27 January 1942, in Kirov Oblast, Russian SFSR, USSR) was an Estonian journalist, politician and head of state, who served as 7th Prime Minister of Estonia. Kaarel Kilvet (13 July 1944 Pärnu – 30 April 2005 Tallinn) was an Estonian actor, singer and director. In 1970 he graduated from Tallinn State Conservatory's Performing Arts Department. 1970-1993 he was an actor and director in Estonian Youth Theatre. 1993-1998 he was a director in Endla Theatre. Since 1998 he was a freelancer. He was a member of the folk music groups Kukerpillid and Leegajus, and a founder and member of the folk and comedy musical trio Hampelmann, with Jüri Aarma and Lauri Nebel. Kaarel Kiidron (born 30 April 1990) is a retired Estonian footballer who last played in Estonia for JK Tammeka Tartu, as a defender. Career Kaarel Kiidron began his career with FC Lootos Põlva. In 2007, he moved to JK Tammeka Tartu. He rose through the youth ranks, and made his Meistriliiga debut on 14 April 2009. He was loaned to Viktoria Žižkov in 2012. At the end of the season he signed a two-year contract with the club. On January 17, 2014, he terminated the contract with Viktoria Žižkov on a mutual consent. In the middle of February 2014, he took up the position of first team manager in his first pro-team Tammeka. He is also registered as a player in the Tammeka first team, being able to play in the Meistriliiga, when called upon. Kaarel Kübar (before 1937 Karl-Eduard; 15 January 1907 – 28 May 2004) was an Estonian sport shooter. He was born in Vara Rural Municipality, Tartu County. He began his shooting career in 1933. He won 5 medals at 1939 ISSF World Shooting Championships. He was 4-times Estonian champion in different shooting disciplines. 1937–1939 he was a member of Estonian national sport shooting team. 1944–1954 he spent in a prison camp in Siberia. In 1955 he returned to Estonia. In 2000 he was awarded Order of the White Star V Class. Kaarel Zilmer (born 9 June 1947) is an Estonian sport pedagogue and sport personnel. He was born in Kaagjärve Rural Municipality, Valga County. In 1968 he graduated from the University of Tartu's Institute of Physical Education. In youth he focused on cross-country skiing, coached by Erna Abel and Herbert Abel. 1966 he won Estonian junior championships. 1968-1978 he taught skiing sports at the University of Tartu. Kaarel Orviku (15 July 1935 in Tartu – 24 July 2021) was an Estonian geologist (marine geologist) and nature photographer. His scientific activity is mainly related to the coasts of Estonia. In 1959 he graduated from Tartu State University.
