KVOA-TV
KVOA (channel 4) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Allen Media Group. The station's studios are located on West Elm Street north of downtown Tucson, and its primary transmitter is located atop Mount Bigelow, northeast of the city, supplemented by translators in the Tucson Mountains and in Sierra Vista. KVOA-TV, originally associated with KVOA radio, went on the air in September 1953 as Tucson's second television station. The station was an NBC affiliate from the start; early owners included KTAR in Phoenix, Clinton D. McKinnon, and the Pulitzer Publishing Company. KOAT-TV (channel 7) is a television station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, affiliated with American Broadcasting Company, ABC. KOLD-TV (channel 13) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Gray Media, which provides certain services to Fox affiliate KMSB (channel 11) and dual CW/MyNetworkTV affiliate KTTU-TV (channel 18) under a shared services agreement (SSA) with Tegna Inc. The three stations share studios on North Business Park Drive on the northwest side of Tucson (near Casas Adobes). Its studios, offices and transmitter are co-located on Oracle Road in Tucson, north of downtown. KCUB serves as the flagship radio station for University of Arizona Wildcats football and basketball games via IMG Sports. KTAR (620 Hertz, kHz) is an AM radio, AM commercial radio station licensed to Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Owned and operated by Bonneville International, it features a Sports radio, sports format airing programming from ESPN Radio. The studios are located in north Phoenix near Piestewa Peak, and the station broadcasts with 5,000 watts from a transmitter site near the corner of 36th Street and Thomas Road. Clair McCollough
Clair R. McCollough (January 15, 1904 – November 30, 1995) was an American broadcasting executive. He worked for 44 years as an executive for the Steinman Stations company and at its flagship station, WGAL, WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was also involved in the foundation of Broadcast Music, Inc., and with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). During his career, McCollough received a Distinguished Service Award from the NAB in 1959 and the Common Wealth Award of Distinguished Service in 1980.
